Whereas the said Common Council and Board of Aldermen deem it wise and expedient to secure such said money and rave it in hand prior to the bepinning of the construction under said contract, Now, therefore, be it ordained by the said Common Council, the Board of Aldermen concurring, That the finance committee of said City be and hereby is authorized to execute on behalf of said city one hundred and forty (140) One Thousand Dollar ($1000) neao- tiable notes, bearing interest, payable semi-annually, at the rate of six per cent per annum, and payable one year after date, as follows: Sixty (60) One Thousand Dollar ($1,000) notes, as above metioned, payable to the order of Sinking Fund Commission of tre City of Charlottesville, Virginia: Thirty three (33) One Thousand Dollar ($1,000 notes as above mentioned, payable to the order of the Peoples National Bank of Char- lottesville, Virginia: Thirty-three (33) One Thousand Dollar ($1000) notes as above mentioned payable to the order of the National Bank of Charlottesville, Charlottesville Virginia: Seven (7) One Thousand Dollar ($1,000) notes as above mentioned, payable to the order of the Commerce National Bank, Charlottesville, Virginia: and seven (7) One Thousand nollar ($1,000) notes, as above mentioned, payable to the order of the Farmers & Merchants National Bank, Charlottesville, Virginia; provided, however, that the lawfully constituted authorities of said City shall have the right to take up said notes or any one or all of them at my interest period, having previously given to the holders thereof 30 days notice of said City's intention to take up such note or notes. And be it further ordained that the s aid finance connittee be, and hereby is, authorized and instructed, after having borrowed the money aforesaid upon such said rotes, to deposit said money aforesaid in each of the said banks in proportion to the amount borrowed from each of said banks; and the said finance cornmittee is hereby authorized to withdraw said money from said banks for the purpose of purchasing material and equipment and of making necessary payments under the aid contract with the said W. P. Thurston Co. , as the consttuction progresses; provided however the s --aid money shall be withdrawn from said banks by the s -aid finance committee in sums prorortionate to the amount of the deposits heretofore referred to; and, prodded further, that none of the money borrowed for the purpoees hereinbefore mentioned shall be used or paid cut except in strict conformity to the terms of the advertisement of the letting of said work, and thre prorposal of said contractor and the contract pursuant hereto between the said City and the said W. A RESOLUTIION APPROPRIATING $8000 ERECT AN INCINERATOR/ RESOLVED, BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN, THE COMMON COUNCIL CONCURRING, That the sum not to exceed $b,000 be and in hereby arpropriated to furnish and erect an incinerator of from 12 to 15 tons capacity on the old City Stables Property, for disposal of City garbage; same to be done under direction and supervision of the Buildings & Grounds Corrmittee and City Manager.
