<br /> The appropriation of $1,692,228 for the Job Training Partnership
<br />Act Program which was offered at the meeting of July 2nd was approved
<br />by the following vote. Ayes: Mr. Barnes, Mr. Buck, Mrs. Gleason, Dr.
<br />
<br />Gunter, Dr. Hall. Noes: None.
<br />
<br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville,
<br />Virginia, that the sum received from the Employment and training
<br />Division of the Commonwealth of Virginia pursuant to the Job Training
<br />and Partnership Act, estimated at $1,692,228, is hereby appropriated
<br />to the JPTA fund, to be expended on authorization from the City Manager
<br />or his designee, and in accordance wi~h applicable state and federal
<br />laws and regulations, to carry out th'e purposes of the Act.

<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, the City of Charlottesville has been advised of the approval
<br />by the u. s. Department of Housing and Urban Development of a FY 1984-85
<br />Community Development Block Grant i.n the total amount o~ $675,000; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, the City Council has received recommendations for the
<br />expenditure of funds from the CDBG Task Force, the City Planning
<br />Commission and the Social Development Commission; and has conducted a
<br />public hearing thereon as provided by law; now, therefore
<br />
<br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, Virginia
<br />that the sums hereinafter set fOrth are hereby appropriated from funds
<br />received from the aforesaid grant to the following individual expenditure
<br />accounts in the FY 1984-85 Community Development Block Grant Fund for the
<br />respective purposes set forth; provided, however, that the City Manager is
<br />hereby authorized to transfer funds between and among such individual
<br />accounts as circumst-ances may require, to the extent permitted by applicable
<br />Federal grant regulations.
