APPROPRIATION: $54,320 YOUTH SERVICE CENTER (2nd reading) AND BE IT FURTHER AND FINALLY RESOLVED that, in recognition of the University's role as a significant part of the Charlottesville-Albemarle communtty, a copy of this joint resolution be communicated forthwith to the President of the University of Virginia with the request from these resolving bodies that the University take whatever action it deems .appropriate to indicate its support for the Task Force. The appropriation of $54,320 for the Youth Service. Center which was offered at the July t6th meeting was approved by the following vote. Ayes: Mr. Barnes, Mrs. Gleason, Dr. Gunter, Dr. Hall. BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, Virginia that $54,320 is hereby appropriated from the grants fund to expenditure account number 01-12130 for operation of a Youth Service Center during the 1984-85 fiscal year. Such center shall be operated by the Central Virginia Child Development Association under contract with the City. Such approp.riation shall be conditioned upon receipt of $40,740 from the Virginia Department of Corrections grant number 84-tI~t, $3,5.80 in matching funds .from Outreach Counseling Services, Inc., and $10,000 to be transferred from City general fund account 01-42210, previously appropriated for such purpose. APPROPRIATION: $ oo,ooo - CHARTER HOUSE (2nd reading) Mr. Barnes stated that he hoped Charter House would continue to solicit private funds. The appropriation of $100,000 for Charter House which was offered at the July 16th meeting was approved by the following vote. Ayes: Mr. Barnes, Mrs. Gleason, Dr. Gunter, Dr. Hall. Noes: None. AbSent: Mr. Buck. BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, Virginia that the sum of $100,000 is hereby appropriated from the grants fund to expenditure account number 11-12250 for operation of Charter House, a home for homeless alcoholics, during the 1984-1985 fiscal year. Such home shall be operated by the Region Ten Community Services Board, Division of Alcohol and Substance Abuse under:contract with the City. Such appropriation shall be conditioned upon receipt by the grants fund of $85,000 from Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services grant number 85-A6248, and of $15,000 to be transferred from the City's general fund, account 01-42190-5405, previously appropriated. APPROPRIATION: The appropriation of $20,000 for the Summer Nutrition Program which $2o,ooo - SUMMER NUTRITION was offered at the July'16th meeting was approved by the following vote.
