Noes: None. <br /> <br /> An ordinane entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND AND REORDAIN <br /> <br />SECTION 10-25 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1976, <br />RELATING TO PENALITIES AND INTEREST ON UNPAID TAXES," was offered <br />by Mrs. O'Brien, seconded by Mr. Albro and carried over to the next <br />meeting for consideration. <br /> <br /> An ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND REORDAINING <br />THE ORDINANCE ADOPTED NOVEMBER 20, 1978, WHICH AUTHORIZED THE MAYOR <br />TO EXECUTE A.~' DEED CONVEYING CITY OWNED PROPERTY ON UNOPENED GLENN <br />AVENUE," was offered by Mrs. O'Brien, seconded by Mr. Albro and <br />carried~-over to the next meeting for consideration. <br /> <br /> An ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND AND REORDAIN <br /> <br />SECTION 20-23 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE 1976 <br />AS AMENDED, RELATING TO THE CALCULATION OF SERVICE RETIREMENT <br />ALLOWANCES," was offered by Mrs. O'Brien, seconded by Mr. Gatewood <br />and carried over to the next meeting for consideration. <br /> <br /> An ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 21 OF THE <br /> <br /> CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1976, AS AMENDED, BY ADDING <br /> <br /> AN ARTICLE III CONTAINING SECTIONS 21-14 THROUGH 21-16 PROVIDING FOR <br /> EMPLOYMENT OF OFF-DUTY POLICE OFFICERS AND DEPUTY SHERIFFS," was offered <br /> by Mr. Albro,~.~s_~conded by Mrs. O'Brien and carried over to the next <br /> meeting for consideration. <br /> <br /> Mrs. O'Brien stated that she had recently seen a braille nature <br /> <br /> trail which has been developed by the Virginia Forestry Division <br /> and the Lion's Clubs of Virginia and since a nature trail is <br /> comtemplated on the Rann Preserve she was wondering if groups in the <br /> City might be contacted who work with the blind and see if such a <br /> system might be incorporated in the proposed nature trail. The <br /> Mayor stated that he agreed with the idea and he would look into it <br /> and report back. <br /> <br /> Mrs. O'Brien stated that the Charlottesville Development Group <br /> recently forwarded a resolution to the Council about possible public <br /> funding for development o~ the Vinegar Hill site in order to attract <br /> and secure a private developer for the development of that site. She <br /> suggested that the Council should start some public discussion about <br /> the need for public funding, the avenues that might have to be <br /> followed in order to secure that and a discussion of Mr. Slidell's <br /> report of the feasibility and pay back period and suggested that a <br /> work session be set with the Group to discuss this matter. The <br /> Mayor suggested that the Chairman of the Group he invited to meet <br /> with Council in a work session on April 19th at 4:00 p.m. <br /> <br /> An ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE EXCHAINGE <br /> <br /> OF CERTAIN CITY PROPERTY FOR OTHER PROPERTY OWNED BY THE RECTOR <br /> AND ~ISITORS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF VIRGINIA," was offered by Mrs. <br /> O'Brien, seconded by Mr. Albro and carried over to the next meeting <br /> for consideration. <br /> <br /> The Mayor informed the Council that the Board of Ar~chitectural <br /> <br /> Review has requeated a meeting with City Council at its earliest <br /> convenience. <br /> <br /> <br />
