86 <br /> <br />Consideration re: <br />Appropriation - <br />$4,642 - CAC3 <br /> <br />Consideration re: <br />Appropriation - <br />$3,600.- Radio <br />Equipment - Sheriff <br /> <br />Consideration re: <br />Appropriation - <br />Mall Project <br /> <br /> On motion by Mrs. O'Brien, seconded by Mr, G~tewood the following <br />resolution was offered and carried over to the next meeting for <br /> <br />consideration. <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, <br />Virginia, that the sum of $4,.642 is hereby appropriated from the <br />unappropriated b~ann~ of the General Fund to expenditure account <br />01,92410 as a contribution no the Charlottesville-Albemarle Clean <br />Community Commission for the purchase of additiOnal disposal bins <br />for the community recycling center on McIntire Road. <br /> <br />On motion by Mrs. O'Brien, seconded by Mr.. Albro the following <br /> <br />resolution was offered and carried over to the next meeting for <br /> <br />consideration. <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, <br />Virginia, that the Sum of $3~600.00 is hereby appropriated from the <br />Grants FUnd to expenditure account 11~12160 for the purchase of <br />radio equipment for the office of the City Sheriff; provided that <br />such appropriation is conditioned upon the receipt by the Grants <br />Fund of revenue in the amount of $3,420.00 from DJCP Grant <br />#78-A4811; and provided further that the sum of $180.00 previously <br />appropriated to General Fund expenditure account 01-12050-5502 is <br />hereby transferred and reappropriated to the Grants Fund to cover <br />the City's matching share of such grant, <br /> <br />On motion by Mrs. O'Brien, seconded by Mr. Albro the following <br /> <br />resolution was offered and carried over to the next meeting for <br /> <br />consideration. <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, <br />Virginia: <br /> <br /> (1) That the sum of $177,415.00 is hereby appropriated <br />from the unappropriated balance of the Capital Projects Fund to <br />expenditure account 05-00760 for the construction of an additional <br />two blocks of the pedestrian mall in Main Street between First <br />Street and Preston Avenue; <br /> <br /> (2) That the sum of $43,353 is hereby appropriated from <br />the unappropriated balance of the Water Fund to-expenditure account <br />02-30040 for the replacement of water mains, service connections <br />and related facilities in the portion of Main Street affected by <br />such pedestrian mall extension; <br /> <br /> (3) That the sum of $12,164 is hereby appropriated <br />from the unappropriated balance of the Gas Fund to expenditure <br />account 04-30040 for the relocation and replacement of gas mazns, <br />service connections and related faCilities necessitated by the <br />construction of such pedestrian mall. <br /> <br />Resolution re: <br />Authorizing the City <br />Manager to apply for <br />a Mass Transit <br />Technical AssiStance <br />Grant <br /> <br /> A staff report was presented which stated that following recent <br />discussions growing out of the JAUNT funding request the future of <br />all transit services in the area should be reviewed. Due to <br />heavy demands on the transit and planning staffs and the need for <br />some outside expertise, it would be beneficial to seek state <br />assistance to develop a future transit plan. The proposal would <br /> <br />serve as a basis for .~seeking a~.~one hundred percent state funded <br /> <br />grant to obtain outside assistance in the program development <br />efforts. The staff believes that this is the most effective means <br /> <br />of providing City Council with the cost and service information <br /> <br />it will need to make the difficult decisions involved in the <br />communities transportation needs. The areas to be investigated under <br />the proposed .study are: 1. service levels; 2. raute structure; <br /> <br />3. coordination with other existing transit service in~,other <br /> <br />jurisdictions. <br /> <br /> Mrs. O'Brien stated she would like included in this survey an <br /> <br />evaluation of different administrative structures, evaluation of <br /> <br />contracting with various jurisdictions including JAUNT, and <br />marketing of the system. She also stated that she didn't think <br />the City should go ahead with this single handedly, but have some <br /> <br /> <br />
