Sections <br /> <br />1.5, 2.3a, 6.1, 6.2,. and 10.1 have be~n amended to reflect these <br />changes. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mrs. 0'Brien, seconded by Mr. Buck the amended <br />CHIPRehabil~tation~Procedur~es were~unanimously adopted. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Buck, seconded by Mr. Gatewood the following <br />resolution was unanimously adopted. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Council has received a proposal from the <br />Mayor and Municipal Council of Neuilly-sur-Seine for the creation <br />of a twin city relationship between their city and Charlottesville; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the people of Charlottesville have learned of <br />the benefits of establishing such international ties, through our <br />similar relationsRip with the Commune of Prato, in Italy; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it is especially appropriate that Charlottes- <br />ville, whose most famous citizen Thomas Jefferson served as <br />ambassador to France from 1784 to 1789, should establish a <br />special relationship with a city in France; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Charlottesville and Neuilly-sur-Seine have <br />many common interests and reasons for establishing an international <br />friendship, in the tradition of the historic friendships between <br />our two countries and between Mr. Jefferson and the Marquis <br />de Lafayette; now, therefore be it <br /> <br /> RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, <br />Virginia, that there is hereby established a twin city relation- <br />ship or "Jumelage" between Charlottesville and Neuilly-sur-Seine. <br />and be it further <br /> <br /> RESOLVED that we convey to Mr. Achille Peretti, Mayor <br />of Neuilly-sur-Seine, and the members of the Municipal Council <br />our warmest greetings, and our hopes that the relationship <br />between our cities will produce many interesting and beneficial <br />exchanges leading to a lasting friendship. <br /> <br /> An ordinance entitled "AIM ORDINANCE TO AMEND AND REORDAIN <br />SECTION 2-1 OF THE-CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1976, <br />AS AMENDED, RELATING TO LEGAL HOLIDAYS~" was offered by Mr. <br />Buck, seconded by Mr. Albro and carried over to the next meeting <br />fom consideration. <br /> <br />On motion by Mrs. 0"Brien, seconded by Mr. Alhro the <br /> <br />following resolution was unanimously adopted. <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br />Charlottesville, ~irginia, that the City Manager for and on <br />behalf of the City of Charlottesville, is authorized and <br />directed to apply for a grant of funds in the amount of <br />$9,226,335.00 (or such other amount asmay be finally <br />allocated to the City of Charlottesville) with the United States <br />Department of Housing and Urban Development under the <br />Categorical Program Settlement .Grant Program, and to furnish <br />all such information and supporting instruments as may be <br />requisite for the processing by the Department of Housing and <br />Urban Development of such application and to accept a grant in <br />the amount of. $9,226,335.00 or such other amount as may be <br />allotted the City of Charlottesville. <br /> <br /> <br />
