Resolution re: Bingo Permit <br />Eta Kappa Nu Fraternity <br /> <br />Appropriation re: $750 - <br />Joint Security Complex <br />Audit <br /> <br />Staff Report re: <br />Director <br /> <br />Bicentennial <br /> <br />Appropriation re: $430 <br />Street Lights for the <br />14th Street Parking Lot <br /> <br />Appropriation re: $895,000 <br />Community Development <br />Revenue Sharing Funds <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Gilliam, seconded by Mr. Van Yahres the <br /> following resolution was unanimously adopted. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Eta Kappa Nu honorary electrical <br />engineering f~t~i~t'~ has d~ applied for a permit t~ conduct <br />raffles in c~{~lianc~ with8~w-36 of the Code of the City <br />of Charlottesville, 1965, as amended; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it has been determined that the Eta Kappa <br />Nu honorary electrical engineering fraternity meets the <br />qualifications as outlined in ~19-36; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the <br />City of Charlottesville that a permit be granted to the Eta <br />Kappa Nu ~onorary electrical engineering fraternity to conduct <br />raffles in accordance with all the provisions of ~19-36 of the <br />Code of the City of Charlottesville for a period of one year <br />from the date of the resolution; and <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the Council be <br />directed to send a copy of this resolution to the Eta Kappa Nu <br />honorary electrical engineering fraternity. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mrs. Rinehart, seconded by Mr. Gilliam the <br />following resolution was adopted by the following recorded vote. <br />Ayes: Mr. Barbour, Mr. Fife, Mr. Gilliam, Mrs. Rinehart and <br />Mr. Van Yahres. Noes: None. <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br />Charlottesville that $750 be and the same is hereby appropriated <br />from the General Fund for AUdit of the Joint Security Complex. <br /> <br /> Mr. Michael P. Gleason, Bicentennial Director, addressed <br />the Council and reported on the activities of his office to date <br />and its plans for the 1976 Bicentennial Year. He reviewed the <br />activities his office has undertaken noting the City-County <br />Bicentennial Film, the development of thirty-six bicentennial <br />programs including twenty-one of an education or cultural <br />nature and plans for inviting President Ford to attend the <br />July 5th Naturalization Ceremonies at Monticello. Mr. Gleason <br />was congratulated by the Mayor and Mr. Fife on his efforts. <br /> <br /> A communication was presented from the Traffic Engineer <br />stating that four sodium vapor lights could be installed in the <br />14th Street Parking Lot at a cost of approximately $650 a year <br />or approximately $430 for the remainder of this fiscal year. On <br />motion by Mrs. Rinehart, seconded by Mr. Gilliam the following <br />resolution was adopted by the following recorded vote. Ayes: <br />Mr. Barbour, Mr. Fife, Mr. Gilliam, Mrs. Rinehart and Mr. Van <br /> <br />Yahres. Noes: None. <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the 'Council of the City of <br />Charlottesville that $430 be and the same is hereby appropriated <br />from the General Fund for installation of lights in the 14th <br />Street Parking Lot. <br /> <br /> The resolution appropriating $895,000 of Community <br />Development Revenue Sharing Funds, which was offered at the <br /> <br /> <br />
