Communication re: <br />Traffic Department re: <br />Street Lights <br /> <br />Appropriation re: <br />,$509.00 street lights <br /> <br />be available and that im order to submit the application this <br />committee needs a resolution from the governing body stating <br />that the matching funds are available, one-third from the <br />County, one-third from the City, and one-third from the <br />University. Mrs. Rinehart stated that she would need more <br />information before making this commitment. A motion by Mr. <br />Van Yahres, stating that the City is willing to commit the <br />$20,000, died for lack of a second. <br /> <br /> A .communication was presented from the Traffic <br />Engineering Department, stating that nine requests for <br />street lights had been received and recommended that these <br />lights be installed. Mr. Clifton McGlothlin addressed the <br />Council and requested that action on the requested light on <br />Montebello Circle be deferred since the opponents were unable <br />to attend the meeting. On motion by Mrs. Rinehart, seconded <br />by Mr. Fife action on the Montebello Circle request was <br />deferred. A motion by Mr. Gilliam, seconded by Mr. Fife that <br />the City assume~the cost of the existing light on St. Annes <br />Road and reorient the direction of the light, in stead of <br />installing a new more powerful light, was unanimously adopted. <br />On motion by Mr. Gilliam, seconded by Mr. Fife the following <br />resolution was adopted by the following recorded vote. Ayes: <br />Mr. Barbour, Mr. Fife, Mr. Gilliam, Mrs. Rinehart and Mr. <br />Van Yahres. Noes: None. <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED .by the Council of the City of <br /> Charlottesville that $509.00 be and the same is hereby <br /> appropriated from the General ,und for the street lights <br /> as approved by Council. <br /> <br />Acceptance re: Portion <br />of Thomson Road in <br />City Street System <br /> <br />Request re: Appropriation <br />re: OAR Loan - $5,448 <br /> <br /> A communication was presented from the Engineering <br />Department stating that Thompson Road has been built to <br />City standards and recommended that it be accepted into <br />the City Street System for maintenance. On motion by Mrs. <br />Rinehart, seconded by Mr. Gilliam, the foregoing reco~nnendation <br />was unanimously adopted. <br /> <br /> Mr. Richard Jones, Director of OAR addressed the Council <br />and requested temporary loan for operating expenses until <br />grant funds DJCP are available. He stated that the amount <br />needed is $5,448. On motion by Mrs. Rinehart, seconded by <br />Mr. Van Yahres the following resolution was offered and <br />carried over to the next meeting for consideration. <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br />Charlottesville that $5,448 be and the same is hereby?' <br />appropriated from the General Fund for a temporary loan <br />to OAR. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mrs. Rinehart, seconded by Mr. Fife the <br /> following resolution was unanimously adopted. <br /> <br /> <br />
