Communication re: Traffic Department re: Street Lights Appropriation re: ,$509.00 street lights be available and that im order to submit the application this committee needs a resolution from the governing body stating that the matching funds are available, one-third from the County, one-third from the City, and one-third from the University. Mrs. Rinehart stated that she would need more information before making this commitment. A motion by Mr. Van Yahres, stating that the City is willing to commit the $20,000, died for lack of a second. A .communication was presented from the Traffic Engineering Department, stating that nine requests for street lights had been received and recommended that these lights be installed. Mr. Clifton McGlothlin addressed the Council and requested that action on the requested light on Montebello Circle be deferred since the opponents were unable to attend the meeting. On motion by Mrs. Rinehart, seconded by Mr. Fife action on the Montebello Circle request was deferred. A motion by Mr. Gilliam, seconded by Mr. Fife that the City assume~the cost of the existing light on St. Annes Road and reorient the direction of the light, in stead of installing a new more powerful light, was unanimously adopted. On motion by Mr. Gilliam, seconded by Mr. Fife the following resolution was adopted by the following recorded vote. Ayes: Mr. Barbour, Mr. Fife, Mr. Gilliam, Mrs. Rinehart and Mr. Van Yahres. Noes: None. BE IT RESOLVED .by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that $509.00 be and the same is hereby appropriated from the General ,und for the street lights as approved by Council. Acceptance re: Portion of Thomson Road in City Street System Request re: Appropriation re: OAR Loan - $5,448 A communication was presented from the Engineering Department stating that Thompson Road has been built to City standards and recommended that it be accepted into the City Street System for maintenance. On motion by Mrs. Rinehart, seconded by Mr. Gilliam, the foregoing reco~nnendation was unanimously adopted. Mr. Richard Jones, Director of OAR addressed the Council and requested temporary loan for operating expenses until grant funds DJCP are available. He stated that the amount needed is $5,448. On motion by Mrs. Rinehart, seconded by Mr. Van Yahres the following resolution was offered and carried over to the next meeting for consideration. BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that $5,448 be and the same is hereby?' appropriated from the General Fund for a temporary loan to OAR. On motion by Mrs. Rinehart, seconded by Mr. Fife the following resolution was unanimously adopted.
