Appropriation re: <br />Tax Refund - $107.12 <br /> <br />Committee report: <br />Delinquent and Erroneous <br />Taxes <br /> <br />Resolution re: <br />Bingo Permit - Alpha <br />Phi Alpha, Inc. <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br />Charlottesville that,'t~er~e~<is hereby appropriated from the <br />unappropriated balance of the GeneralFund, to expenditure <br />account 19-1102, the sum of $59,317.00, for the operation <br />of the Community Attention Home for Girls for the balance <br />of FY1976-77. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Council hereby approves <br />the budget for such .purpose as submitted to Council, a copy <br />of which shall be'kept on file with ~the papers of this <br />meeting, including the following estimated revenues: <br /> <br />ESTIMATED REVENUES - ACCOUNT 19-1102: <br /> <br />19-1102-4302 - Federal grants <br />19-1102-4204 - Commonwealth of Virginia <br /> Total <br /> <br />$ 5,969 <br />53,348 <br /> <br />On motion by Mr. Fife, seconded by Mr. Brunton the following <br /> <br />resolution was adopted by the following recorded vote. Ayes: Mr. <br /> <br />Barbour, Mr. Brunton, Mr. Fife, Mr. Gatewood and Mrs. O'Brien. Noes: <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville <br />than the sum of $107.12 is hereby appropriated from the unappropriated <br />balance of the General Fund for expenditure account 01-0000-~01 <br />as a refund of 1976 real estate taxes erroneously paid by Gloria M <br />Wilson. ' <br /> <br />The following report was presented: <br /> <br />February 2, 1977 <br /> <br />Members of City Council <br />Charlottesville, ~irginia <br /> <br />Dear Councillors: <br /> <br /> We have examined the Treasurer's list of 1975 Delinquent and <br />Erroneous Taxes, as corrected, dated October 7, 1976 in the amount <br />of $349,770.26 and $19,819.37 for 1975. <br /> <br /> The erroneous taxes reflect the assessments abated by the <br />Board of Equalization for real estate and on property acquired by <br />Governmental Agencies on which no taxes are assessable and <br />duplicate assessments on Personal Property. <br /> <br /> We recommend that the lists be accepted, as corrected, that <br />the erroneous taxes be charged off and that the City Treasurer be <br />instructed to continue to collect the delinquent taxes. <br /> <br />Respectfully submitted, <br /> <br />Edwin E. Fife <br /> <br />On motion by Mr. Fife, seconded by Mr. Gatewood the recommendations <br /> <br />contained therein were unanimously adopted. <br /> <br />On motion by Mr. Barbour, seconded by Mr. Fife the following <br /> <br />resolution was unanimously adopted. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Iota Beta Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha <br />Fraternity, Inc. has duly applied for a permit to conduct bingo <br />parties in compliance with §17-19 of the Code of the City of <br />Charlottesville, 1976, as amended; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it has been determined that the Iota Beta Chapter <br />of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. meets the qualifications as <br />outlined in §17-19; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City <br />of Charlottesville that a permit be granted to the Iota Beta <br />Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. to conduct bingo <br />parties in accordance with all the provisions of ~17-19 of the <br />Code of the City of Charlottesville for a period of one year <br />from the date of this resolution; and <br /> <br />22!,_i <br /> <br /> <br />
