Ayes: Mr. Barbour, Mr. <br /> <br />Brunton, Mr. Fife, Mr. GatewOod and Mrs. O'Brien. Noes: None. <br /> <br />The City Manager advised the Council that the City and County are <br /> <br />financing half of the cost of the new wing of the Health Department <br /> <br />Building and Hill Burton Funds are being used to finance the balance, but <br /> <br />that Hill Burton Funds are received on a reimburseable basis. He <br /> <br />stated that the County is performing the fiscal agent function for this <br /> <br />project and that funds are needed to pay the contractor until Hill Burton <br /> <br />Funds are received. He stated that the County is requesting $30,000 <br /> <br />each from the City and County to be repaid when Hill Burton Funds are <br /> <br />received for the project and recommended that the Council approve the <br /> <br />advance of $30,000 as requested. On motion by'Mr. Fife, seconded by <br /> <br />Mr. Brunton the Director of Finance was authorized to advance $30,000 <br /> <br />to the County for the Health Department Building. <br /> <br />On motion by Mr. Brunton, seconded by Mr. Fife the following resolution <br /> <br />was unanimously adopted. <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville <br />that the City of Charlottesville shall enter into Grant Amendment No. <br />1 to the Grant Agreement for Project No. 8-51-0004-02 with the United <br />States of America Federal Aviation Administration for the purpose of <br />obtaining federal aid in the development of the Charlottesville-Albemarle <br />Airport; and .~ <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Cole Hendrix, City Manager, is <br />hereby authorized and directed to execute said Grant Agreement in the <br />required number of copies on behalf of the City of CharlotteSville and <br />J. S. Rush, Jr., Clerk of the Council is hereby autho=ized and directed <br />to affix the corporate seal and to attest said execution; and <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Grant Amendment referred to <br />abo~e is incorated herein by reference and a copy of the same shall be <br />kept on file with the papers of this Council meeting. <br /> <br />On motion by Mr. Fife, seconded by Mr. Barbour the following <br /> <br />resolution was unanimously adopted. <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION appointing viewers to consider a request for the <br />vacation of a portion of unopened Woodland Drive along Parcels 18.1, <br />19 and 19.1 on City Tax Map 20. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Council has received a petition requesting <br />vacation of a portion of unopened Woodland Drive along Parcels 18.1 <br />19 and 19.1 on C~ty Tax Map 20; and <br /> <br /> WHERE~S, it appears to Council that the notices required by <br />~15.1-364 of the Code of Virginia (1950), as amended, have been duly <br />posted; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City <br />of Charlottesville that Messrs. J. P. Borden, Mason S. Byrd and H. P. <br />Winn report in writing to C~uncil what inconvenience, if any, would <br />result from such vacation. <br /> <br />On motion by Mr. Barbour, seconded by Mr. Fife the following <br /> <br />resolution was unanimously adopted. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Highrise for Elderly and Disabled Adults has duly <br />applied for a permit to conduct bingo parties in compliance with <br />§17-19 of the Code of the City of Charlottesville, 1976, as amended; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it has been determined that the Highrise for the <br />Elderly and Disabled Adults meets the qualifications as outlined in <br />§17-19; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City <br />of Charlottesville that a permit be granted to the Highrise for Elderly <br />and Disabled Adults to conduct bingo parties in accordance with all <br />the provisions of §17-19 of the Code of the City of Charlottesville for <br />a period of one year from the date of this resolution; and <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the Council be directed <br />to send a copy of this resolution to the Chairperson of the Residence <br />Council for the Highrise for Elderly and Disabled Adults. <br /> <br /> <br />
