314 Consideration re: Appropriation - $60,000 for Tennis Courts at Pen Park Consideration - Appropriation - $1,448 - Health Department Appropriation re: $459 Street Lights Consideration re: Appropriation - $140,000 - Rann Preserve Property BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottes- ville that the sum of $8,000 is hereby transferred from expenditure account 01-91150 and reappropriated to expenditure account 01-91160, and that the further sum of $4,500 is hereby appropriated from the unappropriated balance of the general fund to such expenditure account 01-91160; both such sums being intended to be expended as a grant to the Monticello Area Community Action Agency for use in assisting needy persons with payment of winter heating bills in accordance with the terms of a proposal heretofOre~made by such Agency to the Council. MACAA was directed to present an evaluation of the program by July 1st, however this was not adopted as an on-going program. The City Manager advised the Council that the Perry Foundation has made a grant to the City in the amount of $60,000 for additional tennis courts to be constructed at Pen Park and requested that an appropriation be made in order to spend this money. On motion by Mr. Gatewood, seconded by Mr. Brunton the following resolution was offered and carried over to the~ next meeting for consideration. BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottes- ville that the sum of $60,000 is hereby appropriated from the unappropriated balance of the Capital Projects Fund to expenditure account 11-51060 for the installation of additional tennis courts at Pen Park; Provided, however, that such appropriation shall be subject to the receipt by the Capital Projects Fund of a like amount from a private~donation. A communication was presented from Dr. Richard Prindle, Director of the Health Department, requesting an appropriation in the amount of $3,212 as the City's share of the cost of an EKG machine and a microscope. On motion by Mr. Barbour, seconded by Mr. Brunton the following resolution was offered and carried over to the next.meeting for consideration. BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottes- ville that the sum of $1,448 be and the same is hereby appropriated from the unappropriated balance of the General Fund to expenditure account 01-41010 as the City's share of the cost of acquisition by the Albemarle-Charlottesville Health Department for an electrocardiograph (EKG) machine and microscope. On motion by Mr. Barbour, seconded by Mr. Brunton the following resolution was adopted by the follOwing recorded vote. Ayes: Mr. Barbour, Mr. Brunton, Mr. Fife, Mr. Gatewood and Mrs. O'Brien. Noes: None. BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottes- ville that $459 be and the same is hereby appropriated from the unappropriated balance of the General Fund to expenditure account 01-24040 for the installation of additional street lighting on Lankford Avenue, Highland Avenue, Montrose Avenue, Otter Street, Meridian Street and 8th Street, N. E. On motion by Mr. Fife, seconded by Mr. Brunton the following resolution was offered and carried over to the next meeting for consideration. BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottes- ville that the sum of $140,000 is hereby appropriated from the unappropriated balance of the Capital Projects Fund to expenditure account 05-00520 for the purchase and development of the Rann Preserve property; provided, that such appropriation is subject to the appropriation of an equal amount by the Board of Supervisors of Albemarle County; and provided further that such expenditure shall be offset in part by anticipated revenues to the Capital Projects Fund for such project of $70,000 from a grant from the Bureau of Outdoor Recreation of the United State Department of Interi'or.
