Resolution - Raffle & Bingo Permit to Ch'ville Educational Foundation Resolution - Raffle Permit Phi Alpha Sorority Authorize Mayor to sign contract with Hantzmon, Wiebel & Co. for Annual Audit Ordinance re: Closing & vacating certain streets and an alley in Garrett Street Area BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the-City of Charlottesville that there is hereby appropriated from the unappropriated balance of the General Fund to account number 01-12020-5501 the sum of $2,027 to allow the purchase of additional office equipment for the General District Court of the City of Charlottesville. On motion by Mr. Fife, seconded by Mr. Barbour the following resolution was unanimously adopted. WHEREAS, the Charlottesville Educational Foundation has duly applied for a permit to conduct bingo parties and raffles-in Compliance with §17-19 of the Code of the City of Charlottes¥ille, 1976, as amended; and WHEREAS, ithas been determined that the Charlottesville Educational Foundation meets the qualifications as outlined in ~17-19; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that a permit be granted to the CharlottesvilleEdu. cational Foundation to conduct bingo parties and raffles in accordance with all the provisions of §17-19 of the Code of the ,City of Charlottesville for a period of one year from the date of this resolution; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the Council be directed to send a copy of this resolution to the Charlottesville Educational Foundation. On motion by Mr. Brunton, seconded by Mr. Fife the following resolution was unanimously adopted. WHEREAS, .the Phi Alpha Sorority has duly applied for a permit to conduct raffles in compliance with ~17-19 of the Code of the City of Charlottesville, 1976, as amended; and WHEREAS, it has' been determined that th Phi Alpha Sorority meets the qualifications as outlined in ~17-19; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that a permit be granted to the Phi Alpha Sorority to .conduct raffles in accordance with all the provisions of~1.7-19 of the Code of the City of Charlottesville fo~ a periOd of one year from the date of this resolution; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the Council be directed to send a copy of this resolution to the Phi Alpha Sorority. On motion by Mr. Brunton, seconded by Mr. Barbour the Mayor was authorized to sign a contract with Hantzmon, Wiebel and Company for the Annual Financial Audit of the City's records. An ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE CLOSING, VACATING AND DISCONTINUING CERTAIN STREETS AND AN ALLEY IN THE GARRETT STREET PROJECT AREA IN THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE," which was offered at the meeting of the Council on March 6, 1978, was adopted by the following recorded vote. Ayes: Mr. Barbour Mr. Brunton, Mr. Fife, Mr. Gatewood and Mrs. O'Brien. Noes: Ordinance re: Relating to minimum housing standards None. An ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND AND REORDAIN SECTION 13-26 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1976, TO ALLOW MINIMUM HABITABLE STANDARDS TO APPLY TO CELLARS AAND TO REPEAL SECTION 13-25 THEREOF WHICH PROHIBITS THE USE OF CELLARS FOR LIVING PURPOSES," which was offered at the meeting of the Council on March 6, 1978, was adopted by the follOwing recorded vote. Ayes: Mr. Barbour, Mr. Brunton, Mt.Fife, Mr. Consideration re: Ordinance - Fees for Electrical Serv. Permits Gatewood and Mrs. O'Brien. Noes: None. An ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND AND REORDAIN SECTION 5-13 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1976, RELATING TO FEES FOR ELECTRICAL SERVICE PERMITS," was offered by Mr. Gatewood, seconded by Mr. Barbour and carried over to
