Resolution - <br />Raffle & Bingo <br />Permit to <br />Ch'ville <br />Educational <br />Foundation <br /> <br />Resolution - <br />Raffle Permit <br />Phi Alpha <br />Sorority <br /> <br />Authorize Mayor <br />to sign contract <br />with Hantzmon, <br />Wiebel & Co. <br />for Annual Audit <br /> <br />Ordinance re: <br />Closing & vacating <br />certain streets <br />and an alley in <br />Garrett Street <br />Area <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the-City of <br />Charlottesville that there is hereby appropriated from the <br />unappropriated balance of the General Fund to account number <br />01-12020-5501 the sum of $2,027 to allow the purchase of <br />additional office equipment for the General District Court <br />of the City of Charlottesville. <br /> On motion by Mr. Fife, seconded by Mr. Barbour the following <br /> <br />resolution was unanimously adopted. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Charlottesville Educational Foundation <br />has duly applied for a permit to conduct bingo parties and <br />raffles-in Compliance with §17-19 of the Code of the City <br />of Charlottes¥ille, 1976, as amended; and <br /> WHEREAS, ithas been determined that the Charlottesville <br />Educational Foundation meets the qualifications as outlined <br />in ~17-19; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of <br /> the City of Charlottesville that a permit be granted to the <br /> CharlottesvilleEdu. cational Foundation to conduct bingo parties <br /> and raffles in accordance with all the provisions of §17-19 <br /> of the Code of the ,City of Charlottesville for a period of <br /> one year from the date of this resolution; and <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the Council <br /> be directed to send a copy of this resolution to the <br /> Charlottesville Educational Foundation. <br /> On motion by Mr. Brunton, seconded by Mr. Fife the following <br /> <br />resolution was unanimously adopted. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, .the Phi Alpha Sorority has duly applied for <br />a permit to conduct raffles in compliance with ~17-19 of the <br />Code of the City of Charlottesville, 1976, as amended; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it has' been determined that th Phi Alpha <br />Sorority meets the qualifications as outlined in ~17-19; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the <br />City of Charlottesville that a permit be granted to the Phi <br />Alpha Sorority to .conduct raffles in accordance with all <br />the provisions of~1.7-19 of the Code of the City of <br />Charlottesville fo~ a periOd of one year from the date of <br />this resolution; and <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the Council <br />be directed to send a copy of this resolution to the Phi <br />Alpha Sorority. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Brunton, seconded by Mr. Barbour the <br />Mayor was authorized to sign a contract with Hantzmon, Wiebel <br />and Company for the Annual Financial Audit of the City's <br /> <br />records. <br /> <br />An ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE CLOSING, VACATING <br /> <br />AND DISCONTINUING CERTAIN STREETS AND AN ALLEY IN THE GARRETT <br /> <br />STREET PROJECT AREA IN THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE," which <br /> <br />was offered at the meeting of the Council on March 6, 1978, <br /> <br />was adopted by the following recorded vote. Ayes: Mr. Barbour <br />Mr. Brunton, Mr. Fife, Mr. Gatewood and Mrs. O'Brien. Noes: <br /> <br />Ordinance re: <br />Relating to minimum <br />housing standards <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br /> An ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND AND REORDAIN <br />SECTION 13-26 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1976, <br />TO ALLOW MINIMUM HABITABLE STANDARDS TO APPLY TO CELLARS AAND <br />TO REPEAL SECTION 13-25 THEREOF WHICH PROHIBITS THE USE OF <br />CELLARS FOR LIVING PURPOSES," which was offered at the meeting <br />of the Council on March 6, 1978, was adopted by the follOwing <br />recorded vote. Ayes: Mr. Barbour, Mr. Brunton, Mt.Fife, Mr. <br /> <br />Consideration re: <br />Ordinance - <br />Fees for <br />Electrical Serv. <br />Permits <br /> <br />Gatewood and Mrs. O'Brien. Noes: None. <br /> <br /> An ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND AND REORDAIN <br />SECTION 5-13 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1976, <br />RELATING TO FEES FOR ELECTRICAL SERVICE PERMITS," was offered <br />by Mr. Gatewood, seconded by Mr. Barbour and carried over to <br /> <br /> <br />
