3'54 SPECIAL MEETING Consideration re: Annual Appropriations Resolution Consideration re: Ordinance re: Annual Tax Levy Appropriation re: $4,200 - Remodeling Jefferson School TAKE NOTICE A special meeting of the Council will be held Monday, the 10th inst. at 8:15 p.m. O'clock. 1. Budget Work Session 2. Annual Appropriations Resolution (First Reading) 3. Annual Tax Levy Ordinance (First Reading) 4. Appropriation for Architect Fees - Jefferson School Remodeling $4~200 (Second Reading) 5. Small Cities/Neighborhood Strategy Area Presentation 6. Executive Session to discuss Property BY ORDER OF J. S. Rush, Jr. (si~ned) Clerk Nancy K. O'Brien (signed) President The Council met in special session on this date with the following members present: Mr. Barbour, Fir. Brunton, Mr. Fife, Mr. Gatewood and Mrs. O'Brien. Absent: None. A resolution entitled "RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE BUDGET FOR THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING JULY 1, 1978 AND ENDING JUNE 30, 1979 AND PROVIDING FOR THE ANNUAL APPROPRIATION OF FUNDS FOR SUCH FISCAL YEAR," was offered by Mr. Fife, seconded by Mr. Brunton and carried over to a . special meeting to be hel~ on April 13, 1978 On motion by Mr. Fife, seconded by Mr. Barbour an appropriation of $50,000 for Bicycle Trails was added to the Capital Funds Appropriation. On motion by Mr. Brunton, seconded by Mr. Fife $50,000 was added to the Capital Fund Appropriations for improvement of dedicated but unaccepted streets. On motion by Mr. Barbour, seconded by Mr. Fife an appropriation of $50,000 was added to the Capital Improvements Funds for drainage improvements. A motion by Mr. Barbour, seconded by Mr. Fife that the positions of Social Service Coordinator and Community Developer be changed from the Grant Fund to the General Fund was adopted by the following vote....c.Ayes: Mr. Barbour, Mr. Fife, and Mrs. O'Brien. Noes: Mr. Brunton and Mr. Gatewood. An ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO ESTABLISH THE ANNUAL TAX LEVY ON VARIOUS CLASSES OF PROPERTY FOR THE PAYMENT OF INTEREST AND RETIREMENT OF THE CITY DEBT, FOR THE SUPPORT OF THE CITY GOVERNMENT AND CITY SCHOOLS, AND FOR OTHER PUBLIC PURPOSES," was offered by Mr. Brunton, seconded by Mr. Fife and carried over to a.special meeting on April 13, 1978. The resolution appropriating $4,200 for architects fees for Jefferson School remodeling, which was offered at the meeting of the Council on April 3, 1978, was adopted by the following recorded vote. Ayes: Mr. Barbour, Mr. Brunton, Mr. Fife, Mr.Gatewood and Mrs. O'Brien.
