Mr~ Gatewood <br />stated this action should not be viewed as indicating a <br /> <br />Resolution re: Quitclaim <br />for a portion of Dice <br />Street <br /> <br />Resolution re: Authorizing <br />the Mayor to sign a <br />contract for the sale <br />of property on Avon <br />Street Extended <br /> <br />Consideration re: <br />Ordinance - Designating <br />the City Council as the <br />Board of Commissioners <br />of the Housing Authority <br /> <br />Consideration re: <br />Ordinance to vacate <br />a portion of Moore's <br />Alley adjacent to Hazel <br />Street -- Denied <br /> <br />Consideration re: <br />Ordinance - Changing certain <br />sections of the Business <br />License Tax Code <br /> <br />negative attitude toward business on the part of the City. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mrs. O'Brien, seconded by Mr. Gatewood the <br />following resolution was unanimously adopted. <br /> <br /> BE-~IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br />Charlottesville, that the Mayor is hereby authorized to <br />execute on behalf of the City the following document, in <br />form approved by the City Attorney: <br /> <br /> QUITCLAIM deed and easement for parcel of land <br />adjacent to Oakwood Cemetery. <br /> <br /> A copy of such document shall be kept on file <br />with the minutes of the Council meeting at which this <br />resolution was adopted. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mrs. O'Brien, seconded by Mr. Albro the <br /> following resolution was unanimously adopted. <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br /> Charlottesville, that the Mayor is hereby authorized to <br /> execute on behalf of the City the following document, in <br /> form approved by the City Attorney: <br /> <br /> Deed conveying that certain tract of land in <br /> Albemarle County on the west side of Avon <br /> Street, Extended and just north of and adjacent <br /> to 1-64 known as the "City Dump". <br /> <br /> A copy of such document shall be kept on file with <br /> the minutes of the Council meeting at which this reso%ution <br /> was adopted. <br /> <br /> An ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO DESIGNATE THE <br /> CITY COUNCIL AS THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE <br /> CHARLOTTESVILLE REDEVELOPMENT AND HOUSING AUTHORITY," was <br /> offered by Mrs. O'Brien, seconded by Mr. Gatewood and carried <br /> over to the next meeting for consideration. <br /> <br /> A petition to close Moore's Alley from Gillespie Avenue <br /> to Hazel Street was presented. Mr. Earl E. Morris the <br /> petitioner addressed the Council in support of the petition. <br /> Mr. Woods P. Stringfellow, Property Manager for Virginia <br /> Land Company addressed the Council in opposition to the <br /> closing. Two of the viewers reported that in their opinion <br /> inconvenience to the public would result from closing this <br /> alley. A motion by Mr. Buck, seconded by Mr. Gatewood that <br /> the petition be denied, was unanimously adopted. <br /> <br /> ~An ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND AND <br /> REORDAIN SECTIONS 15-63, 15-83, AND 15-109 AND TO REPEAL <br /> SECTIONS 15-65, 15-67 AND 15-73 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY <br /> OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1976, AS AMENDED, THE AMENDED AND <br /> REPEALED SECTIONS GENERALLY RELATING TO LICENSE TAXES ON <br /> LRUNDERETTS AND LAUNDROMATS, NON-RESIDENT LAUNDRIES, VENDING <br /> MACHINES AND COIN-OPERATED DEVICES AND MERCHANTS OR OPERATORS <br /> PLACING THE SAME, AND CONTRACT H~ULERS," was offered by <br /> Mrs. O'Brien, seconded by Mr. Buck and carried over to the <br /> <br />Consideration re: ~.~ ...... <br />Ordinance - Relating <br />to Lotteries, Raffles <br /> <br />next meeting for consideration. <br /> <br /> An ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND AND <br />REORDAIN SECTION 17-19 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF <br /> <br />& Bingo <br /> <br /> <br />
