Mr~ Gatewood stated this action should not be viewed as indicating a Resolution re: Quitclaim for a portion of Dice Street Resolution re: Authorizing the Mayor to sign a contract for the sale of property on Avon Street Extended Consideration re: Ordinance - Designating the City Council as the Board of Commissioners of the Housing Authority Consideration re: Ordinance to vacate a portion of Moore's Alley adjacent to Hazel Street -- Denied Consideration re: Ordinance - Changing certain sections of the Business License Tax Code negative attitude toward business on the part of the City. On motion by Mrs. O'Brien, seconded by Mr. Gatewood the following resolution was unanimously adopted. BE-~IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, that the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute on behalf of the City the following document, in form approved by the City Attorney: QUITCLAIM deed and easement for parcel of land adjacent to Oakwood Cemetery. A copy of such document shall be kept on file with the minutes of the Council meeting at which this resolution was adopted. On motion by Mrs. O'Brien, seconded by Mr. Albro the following resolution was unanimously adopted. BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, that the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute on behalf of the City the following document, in form approved by the City Attorney: Deed conveying that certain tract of land in Albemarle County on the west side of Avon Street, Extended and just north of and adjacent to 1-64 known as the "City Dump". A copy of such document shall be kept on file with the minutes of the Council meeting at which this reso%ution was adopted. An ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO DESIGNATE THE CITY COUNCIL AS THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CHARLOTTESVILLE REDEVELOPMENT AND HOUSING AUTHORITY," was offered by Mrs. O'Brien, seconded by Mr. Gatewood and carried over to the next meeting for consideration. A petition to close Moore's Alley from Gillespie Avenue to Hazel Street was presented. Mr. Earl E. Morris the petitioner addressed the Council in support of the petition. Mr. Woods P. Stringfellow, Property Manager for Virginia Land Company addressed the Council in opposition to the closing. Two of the viewers reported that in their opinion inconvenience to the public would result from closing this alley. A motion by Mr. Buck, seconded by Mr. Gatewood that the petition be denied, was unanimously adopted. ~An ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND AND REORDAIN SECTIONS 15-63, 15-83, AND 15-109 AND TO REPEAL SECTIONS 15-65, 15-67 AND 15-73 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1976, AS AMENDED, THE AMENDED AND REPEALED SECTIONS GENERALLY RELATING TO LICENSE TAXES ON LRUNDERETTS AND LAUNDROMATS, NON-RESIDENT LAUNDRIES, VENDING MACHINES AND COIN-OPERATED DEVICES AND MERCHANTS OR OPERATORS PLACING THE SAME, AND CONTRACT H~ULERS," was offered by Mrs. O'Brien, seconded by Mr. Buck and carried over to the Consideration re: ~.~ ......
