staff report tha~-~was presented provides that the rents
collected over a period of seven to ten years pays back
sufficiently to do the job which she considered right. She
urged the Council to reconsider its decision not only from
the physical aspects, but the spirit behind the whole
philosophy of the change. The City Manager explained that
the larger amount would allow moving the Department of
Community Development, the Housing Authority, the Economic
Development activities and the Housing Inspections Program
~all into one area and to move the computer operation to the
basement. This plan would also proVide additional space
for the Social Services department for which we would collect
additional rents. Mr. Albro stated that this matter had been

pretty throughly discussed and the alternatives might have
some merits but finances being what they are he thinks the
decision that was made was the appropriate one. Mr. Buck
stated that the matter was throughly considered at the last
meeting. He thinks the departments can successfully work
together in the same building. On motion by Mr. Buck,
seconded by Mr. Albro the following resolution was offered
and carried over to the next meeting for consideration.

Resolution re: Recovering
expenses incurred in
demolition a~ 614 Palatine
Avenue

BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of
Charlottesville that the sum of $34,900, or as much thereof
as may be necessary, is hereby appropriated from the
unappropriated balance of the Capital Projects Fund to
expenditure account 05-00640 for expenses incurred in
connection with renovation of City Hall to accommodate the
offices of the Charlottesville Redevelopment and Housing
Authority.

On motion by Mr. Albro, seconded by Mrs. O'Brien the
following resolution, was adopted by the following recorded
vote.
