Mr. Tolbert said that funds previously set aside for the Drug Court are now <br />available. <br /> <br /> Responding to a question from Mr. Cox, Mr. Tolbert said SHE did not apply for <br />CDBG funds, though they may be eligible. <br /> <br /> On moti on by Mr. Lynch, seconded by Mr. Caravati, resolution approving the <br />Community Development Block Grant and Housing Opportunities Made Equal (HOME) <br />program for FY 03 - 04 was approved by the following vote. Ayes: Mr. Caravati, Mr. <br />Cox, Mr. Lynch, Ms. Richard s, Mr. Schilling. Noes: None. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION <br />: APPROVING WORKER'S COMPENSATION SETTLEMENT <br /> <br /> Responding to a question from Mr. Caravati, Mr. Brown said that of the $80,000 <br />settlement, $32,000 is for wages paid. He said the present value is $41,145. <br /> <br /> On moti on by Mr. Caravati, seconded by Mr. Schilling, the resolution approving <br />the Worker's Compensation Settlement was approved by the following vote. Ayes: Mr. <br />Caravati, Mr. Cox, Mr. Lynch, Ms. Richards, Mr. Schilling. Noes: None. <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED <br /> by the Cou ncil of the City of Charlottesville, Virginia: <br /> <br />It appearing to be in the best interests of the City, and it being at the request of our <br />former employee, who is represented by counsel, we hereby approve a lump sum <br />settlement of a workers’ compensation clai m in the amount of $80,000.00, all as agreed <br />between staff and the employee (whose name is not stated here for reasons of <br />confidentiality). The Director of Finance is hereby authorized to make payment from the <br />Risk Management Fund in accordance with the s ettlement terms. <br /> <br />The approval hereby given for the entire settlement is conditioned upon formal <br />approval of the settlement by the Workers’ Compensation Commission of the State of <br />Virginia. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE <br />: CODE REVISIONS: PANHANDLING; PARKING ON <br />DOWNTOWN MA LL <br /> <br />
