Inspection of amusement rides. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED <br />that the Dogwood Festival Board shall be responsible <br />for: <br /> <br />(a) Providing five (5) portajohns at McIntire Park during the f estival, one of which shall <br />be handicapped accessible. <br />(b) Payment for additional dumpsters (and collection of refuse from the dumpsters) at the <br />carnival site. <br />(c) Cost of electricity, which shall be billed to the Dogwood Festival Board. <br />(d) Repair costs, if any, to t he grounds at McIntire Park. The Dogwood Festival Board <br />will comply with the mutually agreed upon process (copy attached) intended to limit <br />damage to the park grounds. <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION <br />c. : $6,000,000 - Interoperable Communications Equipment <br />nd <br /> Grant (2 reading) <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> the Federal Emergency Management Agency has awarded the <br />Interoperable Communications Equipment Grant (ICE) to the City of Charlottesville in <br />the amount of $6,000,000.00, which will be used to fund costs associated with the new <br />800 MHz public safety radio system; now, therefore <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED <br /> by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, Virginia, that <br />the sum of $6,000,000 is hereby appropriated into account 11 - 260 - 042111 - 50111 within <br />the gr ants fund. He said fall enrollment was 4,343, 785 of whom were City <br />residents. He said the Connected Community Technology Center has been successful, <br />PVCC has begun to offer internet courses, and offers customized training for city <br />employers. He said there is a small bio - tech program and work has been done with the <br />hospitality indu stry. He said that the study body is younger and there has been a decline <br />in part - time adults, probably due to the increased tuition. He said PVCC is in line for a <br />science and technology center. <br /> <br /> Ms. Richards said PVCC has a remarkable record. She said she is not proud of <br />the State for requiring tuition increases. <br /> <br />
