Preserving what's important to identity. <br /> <br />Natural Environment <br /> <br />While we become denser, how to ensure we have green/open space, protect water supply; <br />beauty; competitive advantage (draws people here); healthy local natural environment; <br />biodiversity. <br /> <br />Initial Draft of Desired Future State of Identified Strategic Vision Targets <br /> <br />Council subgroups were asked to write a paragraph that describes the desired future state <br />for each identified strategic vision target. Members were instructed to write it "as if you <br />are there and it is just as you want it to be (ideal, inspiring, descriptive)." <br /> <br />Economic Development and Employment <br /> <br />Having recognized the fact that there were historic weaknesses both in our employment <br />picture and in our economy, we created partnerships with our strong educational <br />institutions and with the private sector. With our educational partners we developed job <br />re/training and other educational opportunities to allow our citizens to reach their full <br />economic and social potential in the emerging new economy.
