He asked that the motion be amended to guarantee that <br />Meade pool will remain. <br /> <br /> Ms. Hamilton said she thought Council wanted to guarantee a broader community <br />conversation regarding Meade pool. <br /> <br /> Dr. Brown said he does not want to make decisions about Meade pool in a <br />vacuum. He said he is not interested in committing today that we will rebuild Meade <br />pool, though we may decide to do that. He said he thinks we need a wider community <br />discussion. <br /> <br /> Mr. Svetz said that is why we want to do a feasibility study. <br /> <br /> Ms. Hamilton and Mr. Lynch agreed to Mr. Caravati’s amendment. <br /> <br />Mr. Lynch said he wants to see a design for Meade park that maintains a deep <br />water pool. <br /> <br /> Ms. Hamilton said that she would not want us to get into defining the pool too <br />precisely, and said the amendment should be broader to cover more eventualities such as <br />just saying keep a pool at Meade park. <br /> <br /> Mr. Caravati clarified his motion as follows: in system wide repairs for Meade <br />Park a pool will remain there. <br /> <br /> Mr. Schilling said he sees no need to lock it down now and said we should discuss <br />it with the community. <br /> <br /> Mr. Caravati’s amendment was agreed to by the following vote. Ayes: Mr. <br />Caravati, Ms. Hamilton, Mr. Lynch. Noes: Dr. Brown and Mr. Schilling. <br /> <br /> Mr. Caravati said he has deep concerns about McIntire Park, and said there is not <br />likely enough in the CIP. <br /> <br /> Mr. O’Connell said $500,000 is budgeted for McIntire Park over the next five <br />years. <br /> <br /> Mr. Caravati said he will agree as long as that amount stays in the CIP. <br /> <br /> The motion to approve decision point #1, reallocation of $1.85 million in existing <br />capital funds, as amended, was approved by the following vote. Ayes: Dr. Brown, Mr. <br />Caravati, Ms. Hamilton, Mr. Lynch. Noes: None. She said parents have expressed <br />concern about their children being misidentified as being in a gang. She said she <br />supports more enforcement for truancy but would like more information. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Caravati, seconded by Ms. Hamilton, the appropriations for the <br />Gang ID and Prevention Training Grant and Truancy Grant were deferred to the next <br />meeting pending receiving further information by the following vote.
