He said Council decided in January 2006 to leave the <br />diverter in until the County puts in a “porkchop” as the majority of contact the staff had <br />received was in support of the diverter. He said there has been no movement from <br />Albemarle County on this until this week, and Albemarle County staff has made <br />assurances that the site plan for Albemarle Place will have the “porkchop.” Mr. Tolbert <br />said that he recommends that Council stay the course and take no action at this time on <br />this item. <br /> <br /> Ms. Angela Tucker, Development Services Manager, explained that the City has <br />recently implemented 15 traffic calming projects, and she said Council needs to approve <br />closures or directional changes. She said numerous neighborhood meetings have been <br />held on the traffic issues before Council. She strongly suggested that if Council decides <br />that any of the measures be done on a trail period, that the period be one year.
