He said the public deserves a better <br />model in order to provide input. He said pedestrian and bike access, the position of the <br />ramps, and impact on topography need to be shown. <br /> <br /> Mr. Peter Kleeman, 407 Hedge Street, said that the design alternatives for the <br />interchange are not complete. He suggested that it is only appropriate to take action after <br />an environmental assessment has been done and after public comment on a full set of <br />alternatives. <br /> <br /> Mr. John Hossick, 617 Davis Avenue, expressed concern that the County will <br />build their portion of the Meadowcreek Parkway and the City’s portion will be stalled at <br />Melbourne Road which could have disastrous results for the Greenbrier and Locust <br />Grove neighborhood. <br /> <br /> Mr. Leroy Morris, 1500 Carlton Avenue, said some disturbing things have been <br />written about Council in newspapers. He suggested that the whole border of <br />Charlottesville should have increased fines for speeding. He asked that speed bumps be <br />added on Franklin Street to end speeding. <br /> <br /> Ms. Kathy Marshall, 109 Longwood Drive, a YMCA Board member, supported <br />the YMCA in McIntire Park. She said the YMCA’s mission is to serve all citizens, and <br />she said she would like to see it built in the City. <br /> <br />COUNCIL RESPONSES TO MATTERS BY THE PUBLIC <br /> <br /> Mr. Norris thanked Ms. Kellums for bringing the Summer Internship Program <br />participants. He said he is pleased that the program was doubled this year and said he <br />would like to see all kids offered a chance to participate. Mr. Norris thanked Jeanne Cox, <br />Clerk of Council, for her work with the sister city programs. <br /> <br />CONSENT AGENDA <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Taliaferro, seconded by Ms. Hamilton, the following consent <br />agenda items were approved by the following vote. Ayes: Dr. Brown, Ms. Hamilton, <br />Mr. Lynch, Mr. Norris, Mr. Taliaferro. Noes: None. <br /> <br /> Regarding Council salaries, Ms. Hamilton said the idea of comparing Council’s <br />salary to the living wage needs more work.
