4 <br /> On motion by Dr. Brown, seconded by Mr. Huja, Mr. Jeffrey Greer’s term on the <br />Rivanna Solid Waste Advisory Committee was extended to December 31, 2010 and Mr. <br />Mark Meier was appointed (Ayes: Dr. Brown, Ms. Edwards, Mr. Huja, Mr. Norris, Mr. <br />Taliaferro. Noes: None) to a two-year term on the Rivanna Solid Waste Advisory <br />Committee. Mr. Meier’s term will expire on December 31, 2011. <br /> <br />CONSENT AGENDA <br /> <br /> Mr. Huja removed the Sunset Park rezoning from the consent agenda. <br /> <br /> Ms. Edwards said she opposes the Cherry/Ridge rezoning. <br /> <br /> Mr. Norris thanked Southern Development for the largest donation of park land <br />since 1984. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Huja, seconded by Mr. Taliaferro, the following consent <br />agenda items were approved by the following vote. Ayes: Dr. Brown, Ms. Edwards <br />(except that Ms. Edwards voted against the Cherry/Ridge rezoning), Mr. Huja, Mr. <br />Norris, Mr. Taliaferro. Noes: Ms. Edwards voted against the Cherry/Ridge rezoning. <br /> <br />a. Minutes of September 8 and 29, October 5 and 16 <br /> <br />nd <br />APPROPRIATION <br />b. : $55,942 – Justice Assistance Grant (2 reading) <br /> <br /> WHEREAS <br />, the City of Charlottesville, through the Police Department, has <br />received the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs’ Bureau of Justice <br />Assistance 2009 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) in the amount <br />of $55,942 to be used for approved law enforcement overtime, training, and equipment. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, <br />the grant award covers the period fromperiod October 1, 2008 <br />through September 30, 2012, <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED <br /> by the Council of the City of <br />Charlottesville, Virginia, that the sum of $55,942, received from the U.S. Department of <br />Justice, Office of Justice Programs’ Bureau of Justice Assistance, is hereby appropriated <br />in the following manner: <br /> <br />Revenue <br />431110 <br />$ 55,942 Fund: 211 I/O: 1900138 G/L Account: <br /> <br />Expenditure <br />$ 3,716 Fund: 211 IO: 1900138 G/L: 510060 Overtime <br />$ 284 Fund: 211 IO: 1900138 G/L: 511010 Social Security – FICA <br />$ 47,070 Fund: 211 IO: 1900138 G/L: 520990 Other Supplies <br />$ 4,872 Fund: 211 IO: 1900138 G/L: 530210 Education and Training <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED <br /> , that this appropriation is conditioned upon the <br />receipt of $55,942 from the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs’ <br />Bureau of Justice Assistance. <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION <br />c. : $8,319 – Reimbursement from CPC for Signage <br /> (carried over) <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION <br />d. : $3,317 – PVCC Contribution for Bus Shelter <br /> (carried over) <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION <br />e. : $10,850 – Regional Jail Grant (carried over) <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION <br />f. : $4,750 – Bullet Proof Partnership Grant (carried over) <br /> <br />RESOLUTION <br />g. : Accepting Donation of 1.5 Acres of Land to Add to Forest <br /> Hills Park <br /> <br />
