209 BE iT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, Virginia, that the sum of $55,000.00 is hereby aDprovriated from account 26-020-122050 in the Capital Fund contingency account to the McGuffev Art Center Renovation account 26-000-071031 for the purpose of installing an elevator in the McGuffey Art Center building as Dart of the planned renovation of that building. e. APPROPRIATION: $3,750 - Va. Commission of the Arts Grant (Virginia Discovery Museum and Piedmont Council for the Arts) (2nd reading) WHEREAS, the Virginia Commission for the Arts has notified the City of its grant award in the Local Government Challenge Grant category; now, theretbre, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, Virginia, that $1,875.00 of the amount reserved from such grant is hereby appropriated to Grants Fund expenditure account 11-042-071050 for use by the Piedmont Council for the Arts for its activities during the i 995-96 fiscal year, and $1,875.00 of the amount reserved from such grant is hereby appropriated to Grants Fund expenditure account 11-042-071060 for use by the Virginia Discovery tVluseum for its activities durin~ the t 995-96 fiscal year. f. ~APPROPRIATION: $447,724 - West Main Street Bridge (2nd reading) BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, Virginia, that the sum of $447,724.00 is hereby appropriated from the Cavital Fund contingency account (26-020-122050) to expenditure account 26-181-051117 in the Capital Fund to cover the costs of undergrounding utilities, landscaving and installation of street lights associated with the West Main Street BridgeProject. The Director of Public Works, or her designee, is directed to wOrk with Virginia Power and other utilitv companies, as needed, to accomplish undergrounding of utilities on West Main Street from 8th Street to 10th Street. g. APPROPRIATION: $500,000 - ISTEA Grant for Rugby Road (carried over) ORDINANCE: 3RD STREET MALL IMPROVEMENTS ASSESSMENTS (2nd reading) The ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE AFFIRMING THE CREATION- OF A SPECIAL ASSESSMENT DISTRICT PURSUANT TO ViRGINIA CODE SECTION 15_ t-239, et seq., ESTABLISHING THE PORTION OF PROJECT COSTS TO BE LEVIED AS AN- ASSESSMENT ON THE PROPERTIES IN SUCH DISTRICT; RECITING THE FINDINGS OF CITY COUNCIL IN REGARD TO THE BEN~FITS ACCRUING TO PROPERTIES WITHIN SAID DISTRICT; ESTABLISHING THE AMOUNT OF THE ASSESSMENT TO BE LEVIED ON EACH SUCH PROPERTY; LEVYING SAID ASSESSMENTS AND PROVIDING FOR THE T1ME, MANNER AND TERMS OF THE COLLECTION THEREOF," which was offered at the July 17th meeting, was approved by the following vote.
