Noes: None. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE: CLOSING A PORTION OF FLORENCE ROAD <br /> <br /> Mr. Satyendra Huja, Director of Community Development, <br /> stated that the Planning Commission recommended denial of the <br /> request to close a portion of Florence Road since they felt <br /> no public purpose would be served. <br /> <br /> Ms. Lauren Howard, 1310 .Florence Road, and petitioner <br />to close Florence Road, stated that closing~the portion of <br />the road would remove any chance that access would be allowed <br />through the previously closed portion of Florence Road which <br />is next to the property in question. ~Ms. Howard stated that <br />she did not feel the reduction of road frontage would present <br />a problem. <br /> <br /> Ms. Daugherty questioned why the request should not be <br />granted since the neighborhood favored the closing. <br /> <br /> Mr. Clyde Gouldman, City Attorney, explained that a <br />covenant running with the deed of the property'on Florence <br />Road, which was previously closed, restricted both vehicular <br />and pedestrian traffic. <br /> <br />Mr. Toscano questioned whether the public benefit <br /> <br /> <br />
