23 <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the federal policies authorize the City Police <br />Department to receive and spend such proceeds provided the <br />expenditure is on drug related law enforcement matters; now, <br />therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br />Charlottesville, Virginia that such $24,457.50 shall be <br />appropriated to the following police expenditure accounts: <br /> <br />Amount Expenditure~Account Use <br /> <br />$13,957.50 <br /> 2,500.00 <br /> 5,000.00 <br /> 3,000.00 <br /> $24,457.50 <br /> <br />05-270-041110-51110 <br />05-270-041110-53175 <br />05-270-041110-53199 <br />05-270-041110-55104 <br /> <br />Overtime <br />Public Education <br />Informants <br />Machinery <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION: $800 - PROCEEDS FROM SEIZURE ASSETS <br /> <br /> Mr. O'Connell stated that the seizure assets would be <br />used for education and overtime. <br /> <br /> Responding to a question from Ms. Waters, Mr. O'Connell <br />replied that the funds for drug education have been set aside <br />pending recommendations from the drug coordinator regarding <br />how they should be spent. Mr. O'Connell stated that these <br />recommendations will be sent to Council along with <br />information on the constraints on the use of the funds. <br /> <br /> On motion by Ms. Waters, seconded by Mr. Vandever, the <br />$800 appropriation of seizure assets was approved by the <br />following vote. Ayes: Rev. Edwards, ~Ms. Slaughter, ~Mr. <br />Toscano, Mr. Vandever, Ms. Waters. Noes: None. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Police Department of the City of <br />Charlottesville has received funds totalling $800, <br />representing money obtained from the sale of assets lawfully <br />seized by the City Police Department from persons <br />subsequently convicted of drug related crimes; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, said funds have been deposited with the <br />Treasurer of the City; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the federal policies authorize the City Police <br />Department to receive and spend such proceeds provided the <br />expenditure is on drug related law enforcement matters; now, <br />therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br />Charlottesville, Virginia that such $800 shall be <br />appropriated to the following police expenditure accounts: <br /> <br />Amount <br /> <br />$720.00 <br /> 80.00 <br /> <br />$800.00 <br /> <br />Expenditure Account <br /> <br />05-270-041110-51110 <br />05-270-041110-53175 <br /> <br />Use <br /> <br />Overtime <br />Public Education <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION: $171,851 - CHARTER HOUSE <br /> <br /> Mr. O'Connell stated that the appropriation represents <br /> State funds and local funds previously appropriated. <br /> <br /> On motion by Ms. Slaughter, seconded by Mr. Toscano, the <br />$171,851 appropriation was offered and carried over to the <br />next meeting for consideration. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION: APPROVING WORKMAN~S COMP SETTLEMENT <br /> <br /> Mr. O'Connell explained that Council was being asked to <br />approve a Workman's Compensation agreement with an injured <br />City employee which follows Industrial Commission guidelines. <br /> <br /> <br />
