Edwards, Mr. Towe, Mr. Vandever, Ms. Waters. <br /> Noes: None. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE REZONING POLLARD PROPERTY AT LINDEN AVENUE FROM <br />B-3 TO M-1 ~ ~ <br /> <br /> Mr. Huja stated that the Planning Commission recommended <br />denial of the rezoning for the following reasons: 1) it is <br />contrary to the Land Use Plan of the Comprehensive Plan; 2) <br />the proposed use is incompatible with uses· in the area; and <br />3) the use of an open storage yard would be inconsistent with <br />the efforts of the City to improve its entrance corridors. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Buck, seconded by Rev. Edwards, the <br />rezoning of the Pollard property at Linden Avenue from B-3 to <br />M-1 was unanimously denied by Council. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE: <br /> <br />B-3 TO R-2 <br /> <br />REZONING PHASE II OF MCGUFFEy HILL coNDoMINIUMS FROM <br /> <br /> Mr. Huja stated that the Planning Commission recommended <br />approval of the rezoning for the following reasons: 1) It is <br />in harmony with the Land Use Plan of the Comprehensive Plan <br />and 2) the proposed zoning is compatible with the uses on the <br />site. <br /> <br /> On motion by Rev. Edwards, seconded by Mr. Towe, the <br /> ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND REENACTING THE <br /> DISTRICT MAP INCORPORATED IN SECTION 31-4 OF THE ZONING <br /> ORDINANCE OF THE CODE OF THE CITy OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1976, <br /> AS AMENDED, BY THE REZONING OF PROPERTY KNOWN AS PHASE II OF <br /> MCGUFFEY HILL CONDOMINIUMS" was offered and carried over to <br /> the next meeting for consideration. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE: TAXICAB FARES <br /> <br /> Mr. O'Connell explained that. a request had been received <br /> from a cab company to delete the reference to rates charged <br /> per fifth of a mile in the ordinance. <br /> <br /> Mr. Buck stated that the rate structure allowed the <br />cOnsumer to make comparisons between~cab rates and he would <br />not favor eliminating the uniform formula. <br /> <br /> Mr. O'Connell stated that staff did not recommend the <br />ordinance be changed. <br /> <br />The ordinance was deferred to allow a representative of <br /> <br /> <br />
