80 <br /> <br />work~ now, therefore <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br />Charlottesville that Hedge Street from Park Street to Park <br />Plaza is hereby designated a restricted parking block. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE: EXPANDING PERMIT PARKING ZONE 2 (2nd reading) <br /> <br /> The ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND <br />REORDAINING SECTIONS 16-56.2 AND 16-56.3 OF THE CODE OF THE <br />CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1976, AS AMENDED, TO EXPAND THE <br />BOUNDARIES OF PERMIT PARKING ZONE 2," which was offered at <br />the July 3rd meeting, was approved by the following vote. <br />Ayes: Rev. Edwards, Mr. Towe, Mr. Vandever, Ms. Waters. <br />Noes: None. Absent: Mr. Buck. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION: APPROVING DUNOVA COURT AS RESTRICTED PARKING BLOCK <br /> <br /> Mr. O'Connell stated that Dunova Court. was included in <br />the expanded boundary of permit parking zone 2 and had met <br />all necessary requirement for restricting parking. <br /> <br /> On motion by Rev. Edwards, seconded by Mr. Vandever, the <br />resolution approving Dunova Court as a restricted parking <br />block was unanimously approved by Council. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, certain residents of Dunova Court have <br />requested that City Council designate Dunova Court as a <br />restricted parking block; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in accordance with the Permit parking <br />regulations, the City Traffic Engineer has conducted the on <br />street parking surveys and mailed notice to all residents of <br />the affected area that Council will consider designating such <br />area as a restricted parking block; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the surveys have shown that at least 75% of the <br />total number of on street parking spaces in the proposed <br />restricted parking block were occupied, and at least 50% of <br />the total number of on street parking spaces in that block <br />were occupied by commuter vehicles; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Council has considered: <br /> <br />(a) <br /> <br />the purpose and intent of the permit parking <br />ordinance and regulations; <br /> <br />(b) <br /> <br />the alternate means of transportation, if any, <br />to and from the restricted parking block being <br />established; <br /> <br />(c) <br /> <br />the adverse impact that restricting parking in <br />such block might have on nearby neighborhoods <br />that do not have permit parking~ and <br /> <br />(d) <br /> <br />the adverse impact that such restrictions may <br />have on the non-residents of the proposed <br />restricted parking block and their ability to <br />find available parking near their place of <br />work~ now, therefore <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br />Charlottesville that Dunova Court is hereby designated as a <br />restricted parking block. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE: PENALTIES FOR VIOLATIONS OF SEWERAGE DISPOSAL <br />REGULATIONS (2nd reading) <br /> <br /> The ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND AND <br />REORDAIN SECTION 24-11 OF ARTICLE I OF CHAPTER 24 OF THE CODE <br />OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1976~ AS AMENDED, RELATING TO <br />VIOLATIONS OF SEWERAGE DISPOSAL REGULATIONS," which was <br />offered at the July 3rd meeting, was approved by the <br /> <br /> <br />
