86 <br /> <br />Satyendra Huja, Director of Community Development, replied <br />that if all of the $25,000 was not needed for the study then <br />the remainder would be reprogrammed.. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. vandever, seconded by Mr. Buck the <br />~67,000 appropriation~of the Transportation Planning Grant <br />was offered and carried over to the next meeting for <br />consideration. <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION: $3,000- DRUG SEIZURE ASSETS <br /> <br /> Mr. Hendrix stated that the $3,000 appropriation would <br />be used for drug enforcement activities. Mr. Hendrix noted <br />that unless action is taken localities will not be eligible <br />to receive drug seizure assets after October. <br /> <br /> It was suggested that the Mayor send a letter in support <br />of localities continued eligibility~to receive drug .seizure <br />assets. ~ ~. <br /> <br /> on motion by Rev. Edwards, ~seconded by Mr. Vandever, the <br />~3,000 appropriation of drug seizure assets was offered and <br />carried over to the next'meeting fOr consideration. <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION: $59,500 ~HAZARDOUS MATERIALS TEAM ~ <br /> <br /> Mr. Hendrix stated that the appropriation for the <br /> hazardous materials team was funded by the Virginia <br /> Department of Emergency Services. <br /> <br /> On motion by Rev. Edwards, seconded by Mr. Vandever, the <br /> $59,500 appropriation for the Hazardous Materials Team was <br /> offered and carried over. to the next meeting for <br /> consideration. <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION: $41,984.47 . STATE ENTITLEMENT FOR FIRE PROGRAM <br /> <br /> Mr. Hendrix stated that the State fund would be used to <br />purchase fire fighting equipment. <br /> <br /> On motion by Rev.-Edwards, seconded by Mr. Vandever, the <br />$41,984.47 appropriation of the~State Entitlement for the <br />Fire Program was offered and carried over to the next meeting <br />for consideration. <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION: $28,975 - VICTIM~WITNESS COORDINATOR <br /> <br /> Mr. Hendrix explained that a half'time Victim Witness <br />Coordinator had been funded in the FY 89-90 budget and a <br />grant from the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice <br />Services~would~enable a full-time Coordinator to be hired. <br /> <br /> On motion,by Rev. Edwards, seconded by Mr. Vandever, the <br />$28~975 appropriation for a Victim Witness Coordinator was <br />offered and carried over to the next meeting for <br />consideration <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION: ~29, 943 - SUMMER NUTRITION PROGRAM <br /> <br /> Mr. Hendrix stated that funds are received each year <br />from the U. S. Department of Agriculture for the Summer <br />Nutrition Program operated in several neighborhood parks <br />throughout the City. <br /> <br /> On motion by Rev. Edwards, seconded by Mr. Vandever, the <br /> $29,943 appropriation for the Summer Nutrition Program was <br /> offered and carried over to the~next~meeting for <br /> consideration. ~ <br /> <br />RESOLUTION: ACCEPTING NEIGHBORHOOD STUDIES <br /> <br /> Mr. Hendrix stated that stUdies had been completed of <br />the Venable, Fontaine/Jefferson Park Avenue, Lewis Mountain, <br /> <br /> <br />
