105 <br /> <br /> Responding to a question from Mr. Towe, Mr. Robert Cox, <br />Assistant Director of Social Services, stated that while the <br />State is taking the project seriously, State funding in the <br />future is not a certainty. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Vandever, seconded by Mr. Towe, the <br /> $27,953 appropriation of a grant for the Social Services Unit <br /> Clerk project was offered and carried over to the next <br /> meeting for~ consideration. <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION: $1,500 - DONATION TO COMMUNITY ATTENTION HOME PROGRAM <br /> <br /> Mr. Hendrix stated that the donation was raised by a <br /> basketball tournament sponsored by Ralph Sampson and would be <br /> used for the Job Skills Program. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Buck, seconded by Mr. Towe, the $1,500 <br /> appropriation to the Community Attention Home Program was <br /> offered and carried over to the next meeting for <br /> consideration. <br /> <br /> Rev. Edwards joined the meeting. <br />APPROPRIATION: ~200,000 - MCINTIRE PARK GRANT <br /> <br /> Mr. Hendrix stated that the appropriation was a grant <br />received from the State for McIntire Park. <br /> <br /> Mr. Eugene German, Director of Parks and Recreation, <br />stated that renovations at McIntire Park were scheduled to <br />begin in November. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Vandever, seconded by Mr. Towe, the <br />$200,000 appropriation for McIntire Park was offered and <br />carried over to the next meeting for consideratiOn. <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION: ~5,670 - THERAPEUTIC RECREATION PROGRAM <br /> <br /> Mr. Hendrix stated that Albemarle County has increased <br />the services provided through the Therapeutic Recreation <br />Program which is administered by the City~ <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Vandever, seconded by Mr. Towe, the <br />$5,670 appropriation for the Therapeutic Recreation Program <br />was offered and carried over to the next meeting for <br />consideration. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE: ZONING AMENDMENTS (2nd reading) <br /> <br /> The ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND AND <br /> REORDAIN SECTIONS 31-170, 31-174.1, 31-179, AND 31-237 OF <br /> CHAPTER 31 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1976, <br /> AS AMENDED, RELATING TO SIGNAGE REQUIREMENTS AND PETITIONS <br /> FOR VARIANCES," which was offered at the September 5th <br /> meeting, was approved by the following vote.
