MAIN ST. <br /> <br /> Mr. Towe made a motion to table the appropriation until <br />the FY 90-91 budget is considered. The motion died for lack <br />of a second. <br /> <br /> The $501,484 appropriation for the purchase of 524 E. <br />Main Street which was offered at the December 18th meeting <br />was approved by the following vote. Ayes: Mr. ~Buck, Rev. <br />Edwards, Mr. Towe, Mr. Vandever, Ms. Waters. Noes: None. <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br />Charlottesville, Virginia~ that the following sums are hereby <br />appropriated from the unexpended balance of the Capital <br />Projects Fund to effect the purchase and renovation of <br />property located at 524 East Main Street, Charlottesville, to <br />be leased to the Virginia Discovery Museum, Inc., as approved <br />by City Council: <br /> <br />Amount <br /> <br />$451,484.00 <br /> <br />Expenditure Acct Purpose <br /> <br />50,000.00 <br /> <br />26-020-121120 <br /> <br />26-020-071070 <br /> <br />Purchase price, renovation <br />costs, title' insurance and <br />physical surveY <br />Loan to Discovery Museum <br /> <br /> The funds to support this appropriation have heretofore <br />not been earmarked for a specific project, but were approved <br />by City Council as part of the FY 89-90 Capital Improvement <br />Plan. <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION: $14,090 - 911 JOINT DISPATCH CENTER STAFFING <br /> <br /> Mr. O'Connell stated that staff recommended that three <br />dispatchers be employed for the 911 Center to address the <br />increased number of incoming calls. Mr. O'Connell explained <br />that the appropriation would fund the City's share of the <br />cost for a six month period. <br /> <br /> On motion by Rev. Edwards, seconded by Mr. Towe, the <br />$14,090 appropriation for the 911 Joint Dispatch Center <br />staffing was offered and carried over to the next meeting for <br />consideration. <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION: $21,250 - CRIMINAL JUSTICE SERVICES GRANT <br /> <br /> Mr. O'Conne!l explained that the appropriation was a <br />grant from the State Department of Criminal Justice Services <br />to purchase communications equipment for the Police <br />Department. Mr. O'Connell stated that the local match would <br />be provided out of existing Police Department funds. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Towe, seconded by Mr. Vandever, the <br />$21,250 appropriation of the Criminal Justice Services Grant <br />was offered and carried over to the next meeting for <br />consideration. <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION: COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT REPROGRAMMING <br /> <br /> Mr. O'Connell stated that the reprogramming would <br />transfer funds to the Linden/Nalle Street sidewalk project <br />and was necessary due to unforeseen construction costs. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Towe, seconded by Rev. Edwards, the <br />Community Development Block Grant reprogramming was offered <br />and carried over to the next meeting for consideration. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION: APPROVING DESIGN AND LOCATION OF FREE BRIDGE PROJECT <br /> <br /> <br />
