• <br />E <br />• <br />with the Statewide Building Code. <br />icate shall be limited to the type <br />related apparatus specified in the <br />Pg. 5 <br />The holder of a level one certif- <br />of work and types of equipment and <br />certificate. <br />(b) Level two. A level two certificate may be issued to <br />any person who possesses the necessary ability, proficiency and <br />qualifications to supervise the work of installing, repairing and <br />maintaining specified types of equipment and related apparatus util- <br />izing a working knowledge sufficient to comply with the pertinent <br />provisions of the Statewide Building Code, and to plan and lay out <br />the details of installations and specifications complying with the <br />Statewide Building Code. The holder of a level two certificate shall <br />be limited to the type of work and types of equipment and related <br />apparatus specified in the certificate. Certification at level two <br />includes certification at level one. <br />Section 5.05-9. Evidence of ability and proficiency. <br />(a) Applicants desiring to obtain certification at level one <br />must furnish the building official evidence that at least one of the <br />following experience and education standards has been attained: <br />(1) Four (4) years of practical experience in the speci- <br />fied area of expertise or a directly related area of expertise. <br />(2) An associate degree in the field of expertise plus <br />two (2) years of practical experience in the specified area of <br />expertise for which certification is desired. <br />(3) A bachelor's degree in the study of engineering in <br />a curriculum directly related to the area of expertise plus one (1) <br />year of practical experience. <br />(b) Applicants desiring to obtain certification at level two <br />must furnish the building official evidence that requirement (1) <br />below plus at least one of requirements (2) through (4) below have <br />been met: <br />(1) One (1) year of experience in supervision of the <br />installation or repair of the specified types of equipment involved <br />and related apparatus utilized within the specified area of expertise. <br />(2) Four (4) years of practical experience in the specified <br />area of expertise or directly related work. <br />(3) An associate degree in the area of expertise plus two <br />(2) years of practical experience in the specified area of expertise. <br />
