11 <br />AN ORDINANCE <br />TO AMEND AND REORDAIN SECTION 31-279 OF CHAPTER XXVIII <br />OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1976, <br />AS AMENDED, RELATING TO STOP ORDERS ISSUED BY <br />THE ZONING ADMINISTRATOR. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Charlottes- <br />ville, Virginia, that Section 31-279 of the Code of the City of <br />Charlottesville, 1976, as amended, is hereby amended and <br />reordained as follows: <br />Sec. 31-279. Stop order; suspension and revocation of <br />plans, permits, certificates, approvals, and <br />variances. <br />(a) Except as otherwise specifically provided in this <br />chapter, the zoning administrator shall, upon finding that any <br />person is or has been engaging in conduct declared unlawful by <br />section 31-292 31-276issue an order directing such person to <br />stop engaging in such conduct. <br />(b) The issuance of a stop order shall suspend the effect <br />• of any approval, permit, plan, variance or certificate previously <br />issued that relates to the property or premises subject to the <br />stop order until such time as the stop order is withdrawn by the <br />zoning administrator or is stayed by an appeal to the board of <br />zoning appeals. <br />(c) The zoning administrator may, if he so specifies in the <br />stop order, revoke any permit or certificate previously issued by <br />him. <br />Approved by Council <br />March 7, 1988 <br />C erk of Council <br />• 88-7-4 <br />
