• cover requirements and may include wooded preserves if the site <br />or subdivision plan identifies such trees. <br />(2) In order to encourage the preservation of existing <br />preservation credit" for trees which are not destroyed during or <br />as a result of the construction process The credit provided per <br />freestanding tree or cluster of trees will be 1.25 multiplied by <br />the area defined by the boundaries of the existing drip line of the <br />tree or trees as surveved in the field and delineated on the site <br />or subdivision plan. <br />Sec. 31-190. Purpose and intent. <br />(a) Purpose: The purpose of these regulations is to promote <br />the orderly development of certain activities in the city and to <br />insure that such activities are developed in a manner harmonious <br />with surrounding properties and consistent with the general public <br />welfare. <br />(b) Intent: The intent of these regulations is to provide <br />for a review of: <br />(1) The project's compatibility with its environment and <br />with other land uses and buildings existing in the surrounding <br />• area. <br />(2) The quantity, quality, utility, size and type of the <br />project's required recreational space, impact upon existing natural <br />environment and proposed landscaping improvements. <br />• <br />(3) The ability of the project's traffic circulation <br />system to provide for the convenient and safe internal and external <br />movement of vehicles and pedestrians. <br />(4) The quantity, quality, utility and type of the <br />project's required community facilities. <br />(5) The location and adequacy of the project's provision <br />for drainage and utilities. <br />(6) The provisions for the preservation or replacement <br />of trees on the site. <br />31-193.
