AN ORDINANCE <br />AMENDING SECTION 7-5 OF THE CODE <br />• OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1990, AS AMENDED, <br />RELATED TO THE OPENING OF GRAVES. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council for the City of Charlottesville, <br />Virginia that Section 7-5 of the Code of the City of <br />Charlottesville, 1990, as amended, is hereby amended and <br />reordained, as follows: <br />Section 7-4. Notice of proposed burial. <br />Any person desiring to have a grave opened in a city cemetery <br />shall notify the director of parks and recreation at least twenty- <br />four (24) hours before the interment and shall designate the space <br />which is to be used. <br />Section 7-5. The rates shall be posted in the Parks and Recreation <br />office and distributed to local funeral directors. <br />ib The charge for opening a grave shall be payable in <br />advance by the funeral director. <br />(c) Unless a concrete, steel or polypropylene vault is <br />furnished on behalf of a person to be buried, the city shall <br />furnish a polypropylene vault at a charge not to exceed three <br />hundred dollars ($300.00).
