• Section 26-37. Fees for dumpster service. Participation in the city's dumpster refuse collection program is voluntary. Commercial properties which utilize the service shall pay a fee, based on the size of each dumpster available to service the property, for each scheduled collection trip by the city. The fee shall be as follows: City curbside collection services will not be provided for commercial properties. Commercial properties which do not participate in the city's dumpster refuse collection program must arrange, through private haulers or otherwise, for the safe, • sanitary and lawful disposal of their refuse. Section 26-38. Collection of fees. • Payment for such services shall be on a monthly basis. Such fees will be collected by the Director of Finance. Though billings will be separate from regular utility bills, payment due dates, delinquent accounts, late payment fees, and other charges related to dumpster services will be treated under the same terms and procedures used for collection of water and sewer bills (City Code §31-158, et seq.). As with any other utility service, non-payment may result in termination of service. Section 26-39. Prohibition against use of curbside collection service. Any property, including commercial property, or parcel of land which on the average generates refuse each week which would fill more than twelve (12) thirty-two gallon containers will be denied curbside collection service and therefore must use the City dumpster service described above or that of a private hauler. This provision may be waived by the Director of Public Works upon a finding that the location of the subject property makes it impractical to serve with front loading city refuse trucks.
