• AN ORDINANCE <br />AMENDING AND REORDAINING SECTION 32-7 <br />OF THE CHARLOTTESVILLE CITY CODE, 1990, AS AMENDED, <br />TO AUTHORIZE CERTAIN INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES <br />TO USE THE TRANSIT SYSTEM WITHOUT CHARGE. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, <br />Virginia, that Section 32-7 of Article I of Chapter 32 of the <br />Charlottesville City Code, 1990, as amended, is hereby amended and <br />reordained as follows: <br />ARTICLE I. IN GENERAL. <br />Section 32-7. Fares for city transit system. <br />(a) There are hereby established the following fares for the <br />city transit bus system <br />(1) For a one-way trip, the fare for a rider other than <br />a disabled person or a person sixty-five (65) years <br />of age or older, shall be sixty cents ($0.60). <br />(2) For a one-way trip, the fare for a rider who is <br />disabled a person with a disability but not <br />• certified under the Americans with Disabilities Act <br />(ADA) to use para -transit services or who is sixty- <br />five (65) years of age or older shall be thirty <br />cents ($0.30). <br />(3) <br />with Disabilities Act to use para -transit services. <br />(b) The city manager is hereby authorized to promulgate <br />regulations to provide a system of identification for riders <br />eligible for the reduced fares established in subsections (a)(2) <br />and (a)(3) of this section. <br />Approved by Council <br />July 5, 1994 <br />erk of City Council <br />0 <br />
