• AN ORDINANCE <br />AMENDING AND REORDAINING SECTION 15-46 OF THE <br />CHARLOTTESVILLE CITY CODE, 1990, AS AMENDED, <br />RELATING TO WINDSHIELD PLACEMENT OF THE CITY LICENSE DECAL. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, Virginia, that Section <br />15-46 of Article II of Chapter 15 of the Code of the City of Charlottesville, 1990, as amended, <br />is hereby amended and reordained as follows: <br />Section 15-46. Display of plate, sticker or decal generally. <br />(a) Metal license plates issued pursuant to this article shall be displayed with the state <br />license plate at the front or rear of the vehicle. Stickers or decals issued pursuant to this article <br />shall be attached to the lower right-hand side of the windshield <br />of the windshield (behind the _ear view fniFFer or to such other location as the city treasurer <br />shall direct on vehicles not equipped with windshields. Such license plates shall always be in <br />evidence upon the front or rear of the vehicle and all plates, stickers or decals shall be <br />maintained in such a condition as to be legible at all times. <br />(b) It shall be unlawful for any person to operate a vehicle required to be licensed under <br />this article on any street unless a current license plate, sticker or decal is displayed on the <br />• vehicle in the manner prescribed in this section. <br />(c) Any vehicle with Virginia license plates being operated on any street in the city and <br />not displaying a current, valid license plate, sticker or decal issued by the city or some other <br />Virginia city, county or town shall be rebuttably presumed to be operated in violation of this <br />section. <br />Approved by Council <br />December 2, 1996 <br />i <br />of City Council <br />0 <br />
