Zone 9. That area bounded on the north by High Street, on the east by Meade Avenue, on the south by East <br />Market Street, and on the west by 10th Street, N.E. <br />• <br />Sec. 15-205. Validation of existing zones and blocks. <br />• <br />• <br />(a) All permit parking zones or portions thereof listed in section 15-204 which had been in existence for <br />more than seven (7) years as of kugxst 1, 1-489 May I, 2001, have proven to be and are found by the <br />council to be valid permit parking zones which are appropriate and consistent with the purposes of this <br />division. <br />(b) All of the restricted parking blocks approved by the city manager as restricted parking blocks or permit <br />parking areas prior to August 1, 1988 May I, 2001, (with the exception of North lst Street, which by court <br />decision must be re -surveyed), have proven to be and are found by the council to be valid restricted parking <br />blocks which are appropriate and consistent with the purposes of this division. Such blocks are and shall be <br />delineated on the official residential permit parking map which shall be kept in the office of the traffic <br />engineer. <br />Sec. 15-206. Creation of new zones. <br />Based on recommendations from the traffic engineer with the appreval concurrence of the city manager, <br />the city council may, from time to time, delineate additional residential areas of the city as permit parking <br />zones , Uo Gouiwil may Aaw ..e..,.:4 parking xotiug by adopting an ordinance amending section <br />15-204. All permit parking zones established by Council shall be delineated on the official residential <br />permit parking map. <br />Sec. 15-207. Establishment of trial permit parking areas. <br />(a)Notwithstanding any other provision of this division, the city council may, by resolution, establish one <br />or more restricted parking blocks on a trial basis, for a temporary period specified in such resolution. <br />During the temporary time period specified, no other petitions for establishment of a restricted parking <br />block for that location shall be acted on by the city staff or city council. Any restricted parking block(s) <br />established on a trial basis pursuant to this section shall, at the expiration of the trial period established by <br />the city council, continue to be restricted unless and until such block(s) shall be otherwise declared by the <br />city council. <br />(b)The pilot program established by the city in 1999 with respect to University Circle and <br />to implement permit parking in those areas, is hereby ratified and shall continue in effect, <br />regulations promulgated by the city manager for the efficient and safe administration and <br />parking within those areas, until declared terminated by city council. Any amendments to <br />regulations promulgated by the city manager for University Circle and University Way sh <br />to the city council for review and approval. In the event such rules and regulations contaii <br />differing from the regulations set forth within this division, the rules and regulations prom <br />city manager shall govern the administration and control of Dermit Darkine alone Universi <br />Sec. 15-208.
