AN ORDINANCE <br />• AMENDING AND REENACTING THE DISTRICT MAP INCORPORATED <br />IN SECTION 34-15 OF THE ZONING ORDINANCE <br />OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1990, <br />AS AMENDED, BY THE RE -ZONING OF PARCEL 8, CITY TAX MAP 53, <br />FROM "R-3" TO "R -IA" <br />WHEREAS, the Owner of Parcel 8, City Tax Map 53, has submitted an application <br />seeking a rezoning of this property from "R-3 Multiple Residential Dwelling District", to "R -IA <br />Residential District," (hereinafter, the "Proposed Rezoning"); and <br />WHEREAS, ajoint public hearing on this application was held before the City Council <br />and Planning Commission on February 12, 2002, following notice to the public and to adjacent <br />property owners as required by law; and <br />WHEREAS, on February 12, 2002 the Planning Commission voted to recommend the <br />Proposed Rezoning; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council finds and determines that the public necessity, convenience, <br />general welfare or good zoning practice requires the Proposed Rezoning; that both the existing <br />"R-3" zoning and the proposed "R-1 A" zoning classifications are reasonable; and that the <br />18 Proposed Rezoning is consistent with the purpose and intent of the City Code, Chapter 34, <br />Article IV -A; Now, therefore, <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, Virginia that the <br />District Map Incorporated in Section 34-15 of the Zoning Ordinance of the Code of the City of <br />Charlottesville, 1990, as amended, be and hereby is amended and reenacted as follows: <br />Section 34-15. Zoning District Map. <br />Rezoning from R-3 Multiple Residential Dwelling District to R -IA Residential District <br />Parcel 8, City Real Estate Tax Map 53, having approximately fifty (50) feet of frontage on <br />Parkway Street and containing approximately 7,000 square feet, or approximately 0. 16 acres, of <br />land. <br />Approved by Council <br />March 18, 2002 <br />Uetk of City Council <br />0 <br />
