<br />Is within ten (19) fifteen (15) feet of afire hydrant, public telephone, Fre escape,

<br />hospital, bus stop, loading zone, or the driveway of a police or fire station;

<br />Is within the portion of any street intended for the use of motor vehicles, unless a
<br />temporary street closing permit has been obtained from the city manager or city traffic
<br />engineer;
<br />(5)
<br />Is within any fire lanes _esefved r f ••se by fire and efneF,.ene vehieleq, unless a
<br />temporary street closing permit has been obtained from the city manager and approved
<br />by the city's fire code official; or
<br />(6)
<br />Is within an area reserved to another person by a permit for a special event or
<br />community event, unless with the permission of the person to whom the permit has been
<br />issued.
<br />(7)
<br />is within an area reserved to another person by a permit for an outdoor cafe or vending
<br />space, unless with the permission of the person to whom the permit has been issued.
<br />ARTICLE IV. STREET VENDORS GENERALLY
<br />Sec. 28-112. Definitions.
<br />The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this article, shall have the meanings ascribed to
<br />them in this section, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning:
<br />Stand means any newsstand, table, showcase, bench, board, chair, booth, rack, cart, pushcart, container,
<br />wagon, stall or any other fixture, -,of device or wheeled vehicle which may be moved without the
<br />assistance of a motor and which is not required to be licensed and registered by the state department of
<br />• motor vehicles, used for the displaying, storing, provision or transporting of articles or services offered
<br />for sale by a vendor.
<br />Vendor means any person, including an employee or agent of another, engaged in the selling, or offering
<br />for sale, of food, beverages, services, or merchandise on any public street, sidewalk, or on a parcel of land
<br />abutting a public street or sidewalk, whether from a stand or from his person.
<br />Sec. 28-116. Vending permitted only in business distriets specified locations.
<br />(a) Vending on public streets and sidewalks is prohibited, except in districts designated as business or
<br />mixed-use corridor districts under chapter 34 of this Code.
<br />(b) On the Downtown Pedestrian Mall and numbered streets between East Market Street and Water Street
<br />along the length of the Downtown Pedestrian Mall, all vendor stands shall be located within a space
<br />conditions by which such spaces may be assigned and utilized. The location of each vendor stand space
<br />shall be shown on a map approved by the city manager and maintained available for public inspection
<br />within the city's department of neighborhood development services.
<br />(1) The city council will, from time to time, approve a schedule of the fees and charges
<br />associated with reservation of vendor stand spaces, including fees for obtaining a
<br />certificate of appropriateness pursuant to 828-119. No space shall be reserved to any
<br />• person until all applicable fee(s) have been paid.
