0 <br />RESOLUTION <br />WHEREAS the City of Charlottesville is a member of the Board of <br />Directors of the District Home for the Aging located in Waynesboro, Virginia; <br />and <br />WHEREAS the City of Charlottesville provides financial aid to the <br />District Home Board on the basis of resident indigents housed in the District <br />Home; and <br />WHEREAS the reimbursement rate established by the State Department <br />of Welfare for off -setting costs of housing indigents does not come close <br />to equalling actual costs; <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of <br />Charlottesville that the City of Charlottesville respectfully requests the <br />General Assembly to enact legislation which will provide reimbursement to the <br />District Home, by the State Welfare Department, on the basis of actual cost <br />in order that the difference between actual cost and the present reimbursement <br />rate be borne by the State government rather than the member local <br />governments; and <br />• BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the Council be directed <br />to send a copy of this resolution to Senator J. Harry Michael, Jr., <br />Representatives Thomas J. Michie, Jr. and James B. Murray. <br />Copy Teste: <br />Clerk <br />• <br />Adopted by the Council <br />January 18, 1978 <br />
