139' <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br />Charlottesville, Virginia that $6,900 is hereby appropriated <br />from the unappropriated balance of the General Fund to the <br />Social Services Fund, account $18,41090, to be used by the <br />Charlottesville Department of Social Services on behalf of <br />itself and the Social Services Departments of Albemarle and <br />Greene Counties, in the Tri-Area Foster Families Program, to <br />pay for a temporary, half-time employee and related costs of <br />a model program directed at services for older foster <br />children. This appropriation shall be conditioned upon <br />receipt of $6,900 from the Virginia Department of Social <br />Services. <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION: $1,933.14 - SPECIAL PROSECUTOR IN COMMONWEALTH'S <br />ATTORNEY OFFICE (2nd reading) <br /> <br /> The $1,933.14 appropriation for a Special Prosecutor in <br />the Commonwealth's Attorney Office which was offered at the <br />May 16th meeting was approved by the following vote. Ayes: <br />Mr. Barnes, Mr. Buck, Mrs. Gleason, Dr. Hall, Mr. Towe. <br />Noes: None. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Commonwealth Attorney's Office has been <br />awarded $1,933.14 by the Commonwealth of Virginia to pay for <br />the services of a special prosecutor; now, therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br />Charlottesville, Virginia that $1,933.14 is hereby <br />appropriated from the unappropriated balance of the General <br />Fund to account ~01-12040 for use by the Commonwealth,s <br />Attorney in paying for the services of a special prosecutor. <br />Such appropriation shall be conditioned upon receipt of <br />$1,933.14 from the Commonwealth of Virginia. <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION: $9,415,66 - $1 FOR LIFE PROGRAM <br /> <br /> Mr. O'Connell stated that the appropriation represented <br />State funds designated to be used for emergency services <br />equipment. Mr. O'Connell stated that part of the <br />appropriation included funds the Rescue Squad did not <br />request in the previous year. The remainder of the <br />appropriation would be divided equally between the Emergency <br />Medical Services Council and the Rescue Squad. <br /> <br /> The $9,415.66 appropriation for the $1 for Life Program <br />was moved by Mrs. Gleason, seconded by Dr. Hall, and carried <br />over to the next meeting for consideration. <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION: $41~475 - TEMPORARY CARE AND SUPERVISION GRANT <br /> <br /> Mr. O'Connell stated that the grant would provide funds <br />to operate two programs in the Community Attention Home <br />Program: the Temporary Care Program and Community <br />Supervision Program. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mrs. Gleason, seconded by Mr. Barnes, the <br />$41,475 appropriation of the Temporary Care and Supervision <br />Grant was offered and carried over to the next meeting for <br />consideration. <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION: $300,000 - JOINT SECURITY COMPLEX LOAN <br /> <br /> Mr. O'Connell explained that this appropriation would <br />represent a loan toward the expansion of the Joint Security <br />Complex which would then be reimbursed by the State at the <br />completion of the project. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Barnes, seconded by Mrs. Gleason, the <br />$300,000 appropriation for the Joint Security Complex loan <br />was offered and carried over to the next meeting for <br />consideration. <br /> <br /> <br />
