139' BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, Virginia that $6,900 is hereby appropriated from the unappropriated balance of the General Fund to the Social Services Fund, account $18,41090, to be used by the Charlottesville Department of Social Services on behalf of itself and the Social Services Departments of Albemarle and Greene Counties, in the Tri-Area Foster Families Program, to pay for a temporary, half-time employee and related costs of a model program directed at services for older foster children. This appropriation shall be conditioned upon receipt of $6,900 from the Virginia Department of Social Services. APPROPRIATION: $1,933.14 - SPECIAL PROSECUTOR IN COMMONWEALTH'S ATTORNEY OFFICE (2nd reading) The $1,933.14 appropriation for a Special Prosecutor in the Commonwealth's Attorney Office which was offered at the May 16th meeting was approved by the following vote. Ayes: Mr. Barnes, Mr. Buck, Mrs. Gleason, Dr. Hall, Mr. Towe. Noes: None. WHEREAS, the Commonwealth Attorney's Office has been awarded $1,933.14 by the Commonwealth of Virginia to pay for the services of a special prosecutor; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, Virginia that $1,933.14 is hereby appropriated from the unappropriated balance of the General Fund to account ~01-12040 for use by the Commonwealth,s Attorney in paying for the services of a special prosecutor. Such appropriation shall be conditioned upon receipt of $1,933.14 from the Commonwealth of Virginia. APPROPRIATION: $9,415,66 - $1 FOR LIFE PROGRAM Mr. O'Connell stated that the appropriation represented State funds designated to be used for emergency services equipment. Mr. O'Connell stated that part of the appropriation included funds the Rescue Squad did not request in the previous year. The remainder of the appropriation would be divided equally between the Emergency Medical Services Council and the Rescue Squad. The $9,415.66 appropriation for the $1 for Life Program was moved by Mrs. Gleason, seconded by Dr. Hall, and carried over to the next meeting for consideration. APPROPRIATION: $41~475 - TEMPORARY CARE AND SUPERVISION GRANT Mr. O'Connell stated that the grant would provide funds to operate two programs in the Community Attention Home Program: the Temporary Care Program and Community Supervision Program. On motion by Mrs. Gleason, seconded by Mr. Barnes, the $41,475 appropriation of the Temporary Care and Supervision Grant was offered and carried over to the next meeting for consideration. APPROPRIATION: $300,000 - JOINT SECURITY COMPLEX LOAN Mr. O'Connell explained that this appropriation would represent a loan toward the expansion of the Joint Security Complex which would then be reimbursed by the State at the completion of the project. On motion by Mr. Barnes, seconded by Mrs. Gleason, the $300,000 appropriation for the Joint Security Complex loan was offered and carried over to the next meeting for consideration.
