N..E.. <br /> <br /> Mr. Hendrix stated that a petition had been. received ,. <br /> reqUesting'permit parking for 7th Street, N.E. from~Maple . <br /> Street north to its terminus. Mr. ~Hendrix stated that'all <br /> requirements of the ordinance have been met. <br /> <br /> ~On motion by Mr. ~Vandever, seconded by Rev.~.Edwards~ 'the <br /> resolution authorizing permit parking for 7th Street, N.E. <br /> was unanimously approved by. Council. ~ · ' ~.' <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, certain residents of Seventh Street, N.E~ have <br /> requested that City Council designate Seventh Street, N~E. <br /> from Maple Street north to the terminus of Seventh Street, <br /> N.E. as a restricted parking block; and ~ <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in accordance with the permit parking <br />regulations, the City Traffic Engineer has.conducted the <br />on-street parking surveys and mailed notice to all residents <br />of the affected area that Council will consider designating <br />such area as.a restricted parking block; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the surveys have shown that at least 75% .of the <br />total number of. on-street par.king spaces in the~proposed <br />restricted~parking block were occupied, and at least 50% of <br />the total number of on-street parking spaces in that block <br />were occupied by commuter vehicles; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Council has considered: <br /> <br />(a) the~purpose and intent of the permit parking <br /> ordinance and regulations; <br /> <br />(b) the alternate means of transportation, if any, <br /> to and from the restricted parking block being <br /> established; <br /> <br />(c) the adverse impact that restricting parking in <br /> such block might have on nearby neighborhoods <br /> that do not have permit parking; and <br /> <br />(d) -the adverse impact that such restrictions may <br /> have on the non-residents of the proposed <br /> restricted parking block and their ability to <br /> find available parking near their place of <br /> work; now, therefore <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br />Charlottesville that Seventh Street, N.E. from Maple Street <br />north to the terminus of Seventh Street, N.E. is hereby <br />designated a restricted parking block. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION: AMENDING SPECIAL-PERMIT FOR ANIMAL HOSPITAL AT <br />820 DALE AVENUE <br /> <br /> Mr. Satyendra Huja, Director of Community Development, <br />stated that the Planning Commission recommended approval of <br />amending the special permit for an animal hospital at 820 <br />Dale Avenue for the following reasons: 1) It is in <br />conformity with the Land Use Plan of the Comprehensive. Plan; <br />and 2) It will not have a significant adverse impact on the <br />surrounding area if conditions are met. <br /> <br /> On motion by Rev. Edwards, seconded by Mr. Vandever, the <br />resolution amending the special permit for an animal hospital <br />at 820 Dale Avenue was unanimously approved as presented. <br /> <br /> <br />
