36 <br /> <br />Community Attention Homes. <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION: $499 - LITTER CONTROL GRANT SUPPLEMENT <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Towe, seconded by Dr. Hall, the $499 <br />appropriation of the Litter Control Grant Supplement was <br />approved by the following vote. Ayes: Mr. Barnes, Mr. <br />Buck, Mrs. Gleason, Dr. Hall, Mr. Towe. Noes: None. <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the'Council of the City of <br />Charlottesville, Virginia that the sum of $499.00 is hereby <br />appropriated to expenditure account 11-13070 in the Grants <br />Fund for use by the Charlottesville-Albemarle Clean Community <br />Commission (CAC3) in recycling and litter control projects <br />for the period July 1, 1987 through June 30, 1988. Such <br />appropriation shall e subject to the receipt of like amount <br />in revenue from the Virginia Division of Litter Control. <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION: $44,014.90 - STATE ENTITLEMENT FOR FIRE <br />DEPARTMENT <br /> <br /> Mr. Hendrix stated that the appropriation was the <br /> amount received from the State to be used to purchase <br /> equipment and for certain training activities. <br /> <br /> Responding to a question from Mr. Towe, Mr. O'Connell <br />replied that the equipment to be purchased with the funds <br />were mostly safety related such as breathing apparatus. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mrs. Gleason, seconded by Mr. Barnes, the <br />$44,014.90 appropriation of the State Entitlement for the <br />Fire Department was offered and carried over to the next <br />meeting for consideration. <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION: <br /> <br />SERIES 1987 <br /> <br />$234,068 - INTEREST ON GENERAL OBLIGATION BONDS, <br /> <br /> Mr. Hendrix stated that the appropriation will pay the <br />first interest payment due on the $5 million bonds which <br />were issued for the Capital Improvement Program. Mr. <br />Hendrix stated that the bonds have accrued interest which <br />will be applied toward the interest. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Barnes, seconded by Mrs. Gleason, the <br />$234,068 appropriation for interest on General Obligation <br />Bonds, Series 1987 was offered and carried over to the next <br />meeting for consideration. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION: GRANTING SPECIAL PERMIT FOR GROUP HOME AT 1328 <br />RIVERDALE DRIVE <br /> <br />ORDINANCE: REZONING 1328 RIVERDALE DRIVE FROM R-2 TO B-3 <br />(2nd reading) <br /> <br /> Mr. Buck stated that these items had been deferred <br />at the request of the applicant. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE: AUTHORIZING SALE OF CITY PROPERTY ON CORNER OF <br />PRESTON AVENUE AND ROSE HILL DRIVE <br /> <br /> Mr. Hendrix stated that an agreement had been reached <br />concerning the sale of the City property and the land would <br />be conveyed to Charles and Virginia Wood and Security <br />Storage and Van Lines, Inc. for $23,955.00. Mr. Hendrix <br />proposed that that a deed reStriction be attached to the <br />sale of the property which would limit the land use to those <br />allowed in the B-2 Business District, except that the <br />following uses shall not be allowed: retail stores, service <br />stations, laundromats and self-service cleaning <br />establishments, car washes, and sign painting. <br /> <br /> Mr. Towe questioned what plans Dr. Wood had for the <br />house on the property. <br /> <br /> <br />
