43 <br /> <br /> The $234,068 appropriation for interest on General <br />Obligation Bonds, Series 1987 which was offered at the <br />December 7th meeting, was approved by the following vote. <br />Ayes: Mr. Barnes, Mr. Buck, Mrs. Gleason, Dr. Hall, Mr. <br />Towe. Noes: None. <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br />Charlottesville, Virginia that the sum of $234,068.00 is <br />hereby appropriated from the unappropriated balance of the <br />Debt Service Reserve Fund to expenditure account 31-81140 for <br />interest to be paid for General Obligation Bonds Series <br />!987~. , <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION: $1,000 - DONATION TO COMMUNITY ATTENTION HOMES <br /> <br /> Mr. Hendrix stated that $1,000 had been donated to the <br />Community Attention Home Program for Christmas gifts and <br />$10,000 had been donated to the Community Attention Capital <br />Reserve Fund for acquisition of a new facility for the <br />Girls Attention Home. <br /> <br /> Mr. Paul McWhinney, Administrator of the Community <br />Attention Homes Program, stated that the donor wished to <br />remain anonymous and hoped that the donation of the $10,000 <br />would help move along the acquisition of a new home. <br /> <br /> On motion by Dr. Hall, seconded by Mr. Towe, the $1,000 <br />appropriation of a donation to the Community Attention Home <br />was offered. <br /> <br /> Mr. Buck noted that the appropriation could be approved <br />in one reading since the amount was no more than $1,000. <br /> <br /> The $1,000 appropriation of a donation to Community <br />Attention Homes was approved by the following vote. Ayes: <br />Mr. Barnes, Mr. Buck, Mrs. Gleason, Dr. Hall, Mr. Towe <br />Noes: None° · <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br />Charlottesville, Virginia, that the sum of $1,000.00, <br />received as a donation, is hereby appropriated to expenditure <br />account 19-11020-5425 to be used by the Girls' Attention Home <br />for Christmas gifts for the residents. In accordance with <br />the wishes of the donors, an additional donation of <br />$10,000.00 has been credited to the Community Attention <br />Capital Reserve Fund, created in 1985 for long range capital <br />improvements to the Community Attention Homes. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor is requested to <br />send a letter to the donors expressing Council's gratitude <br />for their generosity. <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION: $1,563,719.88 - JOB TRAINING PARTNERSHIP ACT <br /> <br /> Mr. Hendrix stated that this appropriation represented <br />money received by the City since the City acts as <br />administrative agent for the JTPA Program. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mrs. Gleason, seconded by Dr. Hall, the <br />$1,563,719.88 appropriation for the Job Training Partnership <br />Act was offered and carried over to the next meeting for <br />consideration. <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION: $59,000 - CHARLOTTESVILLE REDEVELOPMENT AND <br />HOUSING AUTHORITY VINEGAR HILL URBAN RENEWAL ACCOUNT <br /> <br /> Mr. Hendrix stated that this appropriation would fund <br />the Housing Authority,s Vinegar Hill Urban Renewal Account <br />in order to pay attorney,s fees. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mrs. Gleason, seconded by Mr. Barnes, the <br />$59,000 appropriation to the Charlottesville Redevelopsment <br /> <br /> <br />
