Ayes: Mr. ~Barnes, Mrs. Gleason, Dr. Hall, <br /> Mr, Towe. Noes: None. Absent: Mr. Buck. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE: WAIVING SPECIAL EVENT FEES FOR VENDORS <br /> <br /> Mr. 0'Connell stated that Downtown Charlottesville, <br />Inc. has requested that the fee for vendors.for Downtown <br />Bargain Days scheduled for July 17th and 18th be waived. <br />Mr. O'Connell stated that the ordinance as~presently <br />written does not allow Council to waive fees. <br /> <br /> -~ Mr. Tom Fitch, Executive Director of DCI requested that <br />Council amend the ordinance and waive the fees~for Downtown <br />Bargain Days in order to increase the merchants' <br />participation in Bargain Days. <br /> <br /> Mr. Wiley stated that because Downtown Bargain Days <br />will take place before the next Council meeting, DCI was <br />also reqUesting that the second reading of the ordinance be <br />waived. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mrs. Gleason,~seconded by. Mr. Barnes, the <br />ordinance entitled "AN~ORDINANCE TO AMEND AND REORDAIN <br />SECTION 25-47 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTEVILLE, <br />1976, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO SPECIAL EVENT VENDING FEES ON <br />THE DOWNTOWN MALL" was offered. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Barnes, seconded by Mrs. Gleason, the <br />second reading of the ordinance was unanimously waived. <br /> <br /> The ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND AND <br />REORDAIN SECTION 25-47 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF <br />CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1976, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO SPECIAL EVENT <br />VENDING FEES ON THE DOWNTOWN MALL" was approved by the <br />following vote. Mr. Wiley stated that the <br />relocation will terminate upon completion of Clark School. <br /> <br /> Mr. Leroy Hamlett, Chairman of the Electoral Board, <br />stated that the Board had conducted a detailed~review of the <br />area and felt that Belmont Baptist Church was the best site. <br /> <br />Mr. Barnes noted concern with the number of blind <br /> <br /> <br />
