284 <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by. the Council of the City of <br />Charlottesville, that the Mayor is hereby authorized to <br />execute on behalf of the City the following document, in <br />form approved by the City Attorney: <br /> <br />Mutual Boundary Line ReloCation Agreement between <br />the City and the County of Albemarle in connection <br />with the annexation of P. en Park by the City. <br /> <br /> A copy of such document shall be kept on file with the <br />minutes of the Council meeting at which this resolution was <br />adopted, <br /> <br />ORDINANCE: CLOSING A PORTION OF RAILROAD AVENUE (2nd reading) <br /> <br /> The ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE CLOSING, VACATING <br />AND DISCONTINUING A PORTION OF RAILROAD AVENUE,' which was <br />offered at the August 17th meeting, was approved by the <br />following vote. Ayes: Mr. Barnes, Mr. Buck, Mrs. Gleason, <br />Dr. Hall, Mr. Towe. Noes: None. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE: CLOSING A PORTION OF AN ALLEY OFF EAST JEFFERSON ST. <br />(2nd reading) <br /> <br /> Mro O'Connell stated that the dumpsters on the property <br />will be accessed from E. Jefferson St. and not from Market <br />St. <br /> <br /> Mr. Barnes stated that he would vote against the <br />ordinance in protest against the condition in which the <br />property in question has been kept. <br /> <br /> The ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE CLOSING, VACATING <br />AND DISCONTINUING A PORTION OF AN ALLEY OFF EAST JEFFERSON <br />STREET" which was offered at the August 17th meeting, was <br />approved by the following vote. Ayes: Mr. Buck, Mrs. <br />Gleason, Dr. Hall, Mr. Towe. Noes: Mr. Barnes. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE: AMENDING MCINTIRE PARK CLOSING HOURS <br /> <br /> Mr. Hendrix stated that the ordinance setting the <br />closing hours of McIntire Park had been amended as a result <br />of comments at the previous Council meeting to read that the <br />park will close at 10:00 a.m. unless permission is given <br />in advance for an event by the Director of Parks and <br />Recreation. <br /> <br /> There was a discussion of wording regarding the closing <br />time that will be put on the signs at McIntire Park. <br /> <br /> Mr. O'Connell stated that in order to clarify the <br />situation, shelters at the park could be scheduled only up <br />until 10:00 p.m. <br /> <br /> Mr. Barnes requested that Council review the wording on <br />the signs before they are changed. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Barnes, seconded by Mrs. Gleason, the <br />ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO THE HOURS OF <br />OPERATION OF MCINTIRE PARK" was offered and carried over to <br />the next meeting for consideration. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE: AUTHORIZING SALE OF LAND ON BUCKINGHAM CIRCLE <br /> <br /> Mr. Hendrix stated that bids had been received for the <br />surplus property owned by the City on Buckingham Circle in <br />Albemarle County and the highest bid had been $6,750 by Mr. <br />Gus Heilman. <br /> <br /> On motiOn by Mr. Towe, seconded by Dr. Hall, the <br />ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO AUTHORIZE THE SALE OF A <br />PARCEL OF LAND IN ALBEMARLE COUNTY, IDENTIFIED ON TAX MAP <br /> <br /> <br />
