Ayes: Mr. Caravati, Mr. Cox, Ms. <br />Daugherty, Ms. Richards, Mr. Toscano. <br /> <br />a. Minutes of August 14, 17 and 25 <br /> <br />b. APPROPRIATION: <br /> <br />$4,750 - Va. Commission of the Arts Grant (for <br />Piedmont Council of the Arts and Virginia <br />Discovery Museum (2nd reading) <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Virginia Commission for the Arts has notified the City of its <br />grant award in the Local Government Challenge Grant category; now, therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, Virginia, that <br />$2,375 of the amount reserved from such grant is hereby appropriated to Grants Fund <br />expenditure account 11-042-071050 for use by the Piedmont Council of the Arts for its <br />activities during the 1998-99 fiscal year, and $2,375 of the amount reserved from such <br />grant is hereby appropriated to Grants Fund expenditure account 11-042-071060 for use <br />by the Virginia Discovery Museum for its activities during the 1998-99 fiscal year. <br /> <br />c. APPROPRIATION: <br /> <br />$70,350 - Juvenile Court Assessment Center Grant <br />(2nd reading) <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, Virginia, that <br />the sum of $70,350.00, to be received as a grant from the Virginia Department of <br />Criminal Justice Services, is hereby appropriated to expenditure account 20-020-062142 <br />to support the operations of the Juvenile Court Assessment Center. This appropriation <br />shall be conditioned upon receipt of $70,350 from the Virginia Department of Criminal <br />Justice Services (Grant #99-B9555JJ98). <br /> <br />ORDINANCE: "AN ORDINANCE TO AUTHORIZE <br />CONVEYANCE OF FOUR LOTS OFF LONG STREET TO NANCY <br />CARTER" (2nd reading) <br /> <br />e. RESOLUTION: <br /> <br />Authorizing Membership in Virginia Municipal <br />Liability Pool <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Charlottesville wishes to join with other political <br />subdivisions to establish the Virginia Municipal Self-Insurance Association <br />("Association") to create pools to jointly and cooperatively self-insure and to pool the <br />separate risks and liabilities of the individual members pursuant to the terms of Title 15.2, <br />Sections 2700-2709 of the Code of Virginia; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, through such Association, the City of Charlottesville wishes to join <br />with other political subdivisions to create the Virginia Municipal Liability Pool ("Pool") <br />whereby members can jointly pool funds to provide the necessary anticipated financing <br />for commercial general liability, automobile liability, and automobile physical damage; <br />and <br /> <br /> <br />
