Fees for inspection of amusement fides associated with festival. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Council that the following matters, to <br />the extent applicable, are not waived: <br /> <br />1. Peddler's license and fee imposed by City Code §14-20(d). <br /> <br />2. Policing deposit for carnival imposed by City Code §3-2 ($50/day). <br /> <br />o <br /> <br />Vendor regulations in accordance with City Code §28-11 l, et seq., <br />provided, however, that vendors shall be allowed to operate until 11:00 <br />p.m. for the duration of the festival. <br /> <br />Liability insurance in the amount of at least $1,000,000 with certificate <br />of insurance naming City as an additional insured. <br /> <br />5. Permit for £n'eworks display approved by Fire Department. <br /> <br />6. Inspection of amusement fides. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Dogwood Festival Board shall be <br />responsible for providing five (5) portajohns at McIntire Park during the festival, one <br />of which shall be handicapped accessible. <br /> <br />g. ORDINANCE: <br /> <br />Closing Franklin Street Alley (carried over) <br /> <br />APPROVING MINUTES OF JANUARY 4, 1999 <br /> <br /> Mr. Cox said he was not present at the January 4th meeting, but in reading the <br />minutes concerning the BAR appeal, he noted that no where did the attorney for the <br />applicant state that the building is a converted warehouse, now used as a residential <br />apartment with a residential addition having been built without a permk, <br /> <br /> The minutes of January 4th were approved by the following vote. Ayes: Mr. <br />Caravati, Ms. Daugherty, Ms. Richards, Mr. Toscano. Noes: None. Abstaining: Mr. <br />Cox. <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION: $145,000 - WASHINGTON PARK GRANTS <br /> <br /> Mr. Caravati said he asked that the appropriation be removed from the consent <br />agenda so that he could thank the Dave Matthews Band and the Perry Foundation for <br />their generous donations. <br /> <br /> Responding to questions from Councilors, Ms. Linda Peacock, Assistant City <br />Manager, said that staff have recommended hat $500,000 be used as the City's share to <br />encourage additional private fundraising for Washington Park. <br /> <br /> Ms. Richards said that a slide would be a real attractor for the Washington Park <br />pool, and noted that it is not funded, and Ms. Peacock replied that it is recommended for <br />one-time funding in the budget. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Toscano, seconded by Mr. Caravati, the $145,000 <br />appropriation of grants to Washington Park was offered and carried over to the next <br />meeting for consideration. <br /> <br /> <br />
