Ms. Daugherty said she is concerned about relocation of <br />the National Ground Intelligence Center and feels it is a big issue. <br /> <br /> Mr. Cox said he is concerned about the lack of a neighborhood grocery in the <br />central city mad suggested exploring a community owned cooperatixte. Mr. Cox said he <br /> nd <br />wished the 2 and Water Street development could be broken down to make it more <br />feasible. <br /> <br />Ms. Richards said she would like to see the idea of"markets" explored. <br /> <br />Infrastructure and Transportation <br /> <br /> Mr. Cox: 1) Comprehensive Plan process critical (do in innovative way); <br />2) Comprehensive Transportation Study; 3) Transit Development Plan. Mr. Cox said he <br />thinks sidewalk priorities need to be revamped. <br /> <br /> Mr. ~Toscano said that instead of revamping the sidewalk priorities, Council may <br />need to put more money into them. Mr. Toscano said he is not clear about what a <br />Comprehensive Transportation Study is, adding that there is an incredible amount of <br />things to be done that will have a lot of impact. <br /> <br /> Mr. Toscano: 1) Court Facilities StudY; 2) School Facilities Study: 3) Parking <br />Study. <br /> <br /> Ms. Richards: 1) Ttransit in corridor; 2) Transportation Study (including re- <br />examining all traffic signals): 3) Court Facilities Study; 4) School Facilities Study; <br />5) Downtown mai?brick study. <br /> <br /> Ms. Daugherty: 1) Comprehensive Plan; 2) Comprehensive Transportation <br />Study; 3) Eastern Planning Initiative; 4) Transit Development Plan; 5) Parking Study; <br />6) East Precinct Traffic Study (U. Va.); 7) Courts Facility Study; 8) Corridor Study; and <br />9) Schools Facility Study. <br /> <br /> Mr. O'Connetl said he feels the Technology Work Plan is self-explanatory and <br />does not need to be prioritized. <br /> <br /> Mr. O'Connell said that Healthy Families is more of a philosophy rather than a <br />Work Plan. <br /> <br />Business Services <br /> <br /> Ms. Daugherty said the idea of a scholarship fund is beinglooked at by a <br />committee. <br /> <br /> Mr. Toseano-and Ms. Richards said they have concerns about such a scholarship <br />fund and how it would unfold as described by Russ Linden. <br /> <br />Mr. O'Co .nnell said he would like feedback from Council on budget priorities. <br /> <br /> Mr. Toscano suggested that Council hold a work session and receive a budget <br />presentation, including where the City is in. terms of Tom Muller's projections. <br /> <br />N~ghborhoods <br /> <br /> Mr. O~Connell said that an update on the Housing Strategy wilt be made to <br />Council in the near future. <br /> <br />Mr. Cox said he would like to see a visual presentation on the Housing Strategy. <br /> <br /> MSL Richards said the five year Consolidated Plan will be reviewed through the <br />MPO, and noted that Council wanted to have input into that process, including <br />establishing benchmarks, measures and goals. <br /> <br /> <br />
